Who is God?

Reba, I know what a tirade is. Can you define it for me please? If you claim you're better than a college student, then by all means, enlighten me.
I'm not "better" than anyone; I just have more experience. I've had my college degrees for many years, and I worked for over 20 years as a professional journalist. So, I do know something about words. :)

Just to make things easy, here's the on-line dictionary definition:

"A long angry or violent speech, usually of a censorious or denunciatory nature; a diatribe."

As you can clearly see, none of my posts in this thread fit that description.

I don't see the person originating this thread saying, "Jesus is God." Therefore, you are the one who insinuated on this.

So you're saying God is a hateful being who does not want us all to love each other? Are you sure you're not describing Satan? ;)
Not to be mean but you really need to sharpen your critical reading skills in the area of comprehension and conclusion making.

But mortal men don't consider themselves to be a holy deity.
See the above reply.

Yeah, and they'll say, "wow, what a misguided fool."
On top of everything else you're a mind reader?

Personally, I don't care what their impression is of me, as long as they see what I actually post instead accepting any lies about what I post.

Yet, the artifacts he collects is real. Observe:

The Lost Ark of the Covenant
I know the Ark of the Covenant is real.

Indiana Jones is not real. The movies about him are not true stories. The Ark is not in a crate in a Washington warehouse. "He" isn't collecting any artifacts.

And Let's guess where that artifact appeared in. Could it be *gasp!* Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Let me get this straight. You don't believe the Bible is authentic but you believe Indiana Jones movies are true stories?

Then in the third film, another religious artifact appears:

CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: The Holy Grail
So? What's your point? The White House is a real place, and it appeared in Independence Day. Does that mean the aliens really invaded Earth?

Wow. Show me where did I say that Indiana Jones was a real person? All I said was that movies borrows heavily from religious lore. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg needed a story for Raiders so they chose the Ark of the Covenant and did research on that so they could have Indiana chase the artifact. In 1989, the same thing happened for The Last Crusade. Do not be nearsighted on anything that is based on religion.

So? What's your point? The White House is a real place, and it appeared in Independence Day. Does that mean the aliens really invaded Earth?

Wow, you believe that just about everyone is addicted to movies, don't you?

Having a degree does not make you an expert in religion. You are wrong about tirade. Observe from my friends at Merriam-Webster:

Main Entry: ti·rade
Pronunciation: 'tI-"rAd also ti-'
Function: noun
Etymology: French, shot, tirade, from Middle French, from Old Italian tirata, from tirare to draw, shoot
: a protracted speech usually marked by intemperate, vituperative, or harshly censorious language

Note the fact that it does not have to include swearing 100 percent of the time.

So, you wouldn't care if you lost a couple of Christian friends just from reading your posts? You do realize that you are accepting some lies in the bible since Yiffy has stated that parts of the bible is fiction right?

If I'm not real and everything is dream? Shall I kill myself to find out the truth? But no point to return to tell. oh drat.

I never said that I was. Never.

Anyway, we were discussing words, not religion.

Your definition proves my point. My posts do not fit the definition of tirade. Read your own definition.

Who said anything about swearing?

This isn't a popularity contest. Or is it, for you?

Reba don't lose me from readin' her posts. I totally agree with her what she knows about God/Jesus. I disagree with Yiffy when he stated that Jesus is NOT God. I guess, your eyes don't have any light from the inside out to be able to see the Words of God.

Reba, Just send e-mail to Deafinoregon then she will get your attention.

If Jesus not the One, then something went wrong in the Old Testament. There are surmountable verses describe Y'shua. What is the purpose when Jesus prayed? Why did Jesus say " Right, noone is good but God Himself." ? Correct, if all of us is a sinner, no one will go to Heaven, but only one way, it is Jesus, The Sacrificial Lamb. Throughout the Old Testaments prophesied Jesus Christ. The birth, ministry, death and etc. One thing, where it goes wrong, jews confused about the Leaders and thought if Jesus was a Messiah, Roman power would be defeated, the problem? They focus politically. That is not what OT talking about. Like Daniel, Ezekiel, all described as in Revelation. Which is will happen in the future, and as the time frame, the purpose that God has plan is grace. Book of Isaiah described it perfectly who Christ is. And the line of David. Y'shua gave up His glory to come down to be born like human like us, yet without sin. Humans always try to find the answers in their own way. God is far more better and lot of impossible that human couldn't do or think how that be.

Yep, I believe Jesus IS really G O D. Have you read in your bible about Jesus healin' people ? He healed them - THAT proved that He IS God. He even risen from the dead after 3 days. That proved that He IS God, too. Too many proves in the bible that He is really God. Same thing with God Himself that He made this earth and universe.

What more do you want to prove from Christians that Jesus is God ? :)

Jesus had it from his father.

Remember, it´s Christian who wrote the bible to lead you to beleive that Jesus is God but other bibles says different as Christianity´s bible. Everyone knows from the bible that Jesus´s father is God.

Too many proves in the bible? No, it is still no proof either your bible is correct or not.

Jesus wasn't born from Joseph. And even in the OT, as mentioned that the virgin will have a child name Immanuel ( God with us).

I never say that Jesus´s father is Joseph... I said in my previous post that Jesus´s father is God...

haha, gotcha and sometimes, many have no idea of realm of God. The reason of using the word Son and the Father and the Holy Spirit, is why as one God. Because that's where I got the picture how I noticed even when Jesus mentioned, even He Himself met Abraham, and religious leader puzzled how can that be, bec thinking Jesus wasn't born yet and that's where Jesus said to the religious leaders many times, "have you read?", "you still not understand?" and etc. Even disciples themselves doesn't understand till when the Day of Pentecost, where things gotten enlighten them, bec before Jesus' death, thought Jesus will be the one who will have power over Romans, but Jesus try to emphasize the point the meaning of King, not in political way.

Hardly. That's like you pulling verses out of context. Good job, smart aleck.

No, what im saying, that you calling some people in here unwise
which is rude and uncalled for, that makes you look like you
smarter than all of us..nothing to do with versus or anything, period.

Yiffy is trying to make POINT OF VIEWS.... Reba and CyberRed you both misunderstood him... Thank RitCount you are right....yiffy did not mean to insult us all... he is making point of view...

Yiffy... you are doing good.. dont worry...

CyberRed... Jesus is not God... he is SON OF GOD.... SO BE IT....

This tells me you lack wisdom.

If you fear God, you will be aware of God so that you will attempt to not sin. If you do not fear God, then you will be sympathetic to the thought that God is entirely forgiving so you will continue to sin, based on the lame concept of, "We are sinners!" From there I see no effort from you into perfecting your very self for God and God alone.

I can say the same thing to you: "Accept Islam! If you don't, wait 'til Judgment day! You will be very sorry if you don't accept Islam as your religion!"

Don't pull that lame threat with me. ;)
HUh?...you simply dont know what you are talking about...tsk tsk..
You sooo confused..tsk tsk...whatever..Islam?? huh? I dont practice
Islam, you fool. Im a Christian.
Im sorry if you thought i threaten you, i didnt..I m just simply, not only
you but other unbelievers what to expect if they dont accept Jesus in
thier lives before Judgement Day or before your death.
Of course, we will sin because we were born sinners, but as long we
ask God for forgiveness and repent of our sins, we will still go to Heaven.
If you dont understand that, im sorry. You need to read the Bible to under
stand that.
I hope i made myself clear?
Have a good day!

That's okay, Defee; theyr'e just kids.....snot-nosed ones at that....

Defee,

I do know what I am talking about. Do you?

I am not confused. If I am, prove it. I have studied religion in an orthodox fashion for the past four years. Certainly I've faced every question out there to know how to respond to them. Because of this, I've gained a multitude of perspectives with some experience to have a say.

You say you do not practice Islam and I'm a fool for even bringing it up. Well, you are a fool for bringing up the Jesus is God belief in my face and to accept it or suffer in the sight of judgment day of God Almighty Himself. It would also not make sense if I told you to accept Islam or to be in hell. I am simply playing the reversal role to show you that you do not make sense and you hardly hold any credibility because of that.

But you are going off the point anyway. You say Jesus is God. Now, prove it through reliable means (and not the scriptures itself). The Qur'an has a way of proving itself through its mathematical formula that encompasses the whole book and the fact its language hasn't been altered to any other. The Bible does not. Bible scholars also agree with the fact that the Bible have been under the subject of modification for many centuries, especially since it goes through the authority of the Church. I have presented these facts to you and you have said nothing about them but insisted that Jesus is God without any sense of truth!

While you've certainly made your point simple (naive) and clear (watery), it would only appeal to the highly faithful "Jesus is God" believers. If missionaries wish to appeal to the rest of mankind, they would have to convince them that the proof exists (outside of the scriptures) that the Bible is perfect and without contradiction. A person with average intelligence would see the consistent contradictions of the Bible. Were you taught to accept these contradictions without question or were you convinced by a fallible man through the persuasion of his glorious words that made you believe it was true?

Be well,
Yiffzer
