Rev. Wright didn't change overnight. During that 20 years he did preach those topics and viewpoints when Obama was present.

Or did Obama lie about how often he attended church?

Which is it?

For the past 20 years he preached the topic of 9/11? Wow, interesting!

The same can be said for McCain supporters: "Obviously to conservatives McCain can do no wrong. Conservatives will deny or overlook anything that sullies their savior's brilliance."
I don't consider McCain a savior, or even my favored candidate. I don't deny or overlook his many faults. He is what he is, and he's the only candidate we have right now against Obama. McCain's not great but there is no way I can vote for Obama.

Yes. As I said, it's old news and obviously hasn't influenced the majority of voters. Hence, Obama's current lead in the polls.
So sad for our country. I just pray God has mercy on us. We don't deserve it but I hope so anyway.[/QUOTE]

No, not just 9/11. That wasn't his only hateful rant.

Okay well, if you want to base your voting on the fact that Obama didn't stand up to a few things his pastor said, then so be it. Don't expect us to think its great reasoning to base your vote.

It's poor reasoning but hey, it's your vote.

Obviously, she's forgotten Pastor Hagee and how McCain had to "brush him aside" when people found out all the nasty things he had preached.

Was Hagee McCain's preacher and spiritual mentor for 20 years? No.

If McCain attended Hagee's church for 20 years I would say the same about him in the thread about McCain (this is the Obama thread). I would say that he should have quit attending that church a long time ago.

And I don't consider Obama a savior either. Just because I support him doesn't mean I consider him a savior.

If you can't vote for Obama, how about voting 3rd party (Ralph Nader)?

I feel the same way should Palin be elected as Vice-President. Lord help us all.

I noticed this thread with polls. The reason to against Obama's tax plan is first and second is abortion and third is economy so far.

Are you guys concern about Obama's tax plan issue? :hmm:

Nope.

As has been mentioned ad nauseum on AD, Obama's tax plan involves *no* taxes for families making $250,000 or less and individuals making $200,000 or less. What is so difficult for Conservatives to understand about that?

I don't remember hearing a similar tax plan from McCain.

Nope! My husband and I are being taxed like crazy now no matter what we do so his plan definitely sounds a lot better than the one in place right now.

Nope. I fall into the category that will benefit from Obama's tax plan, as I don't make over $250,000 a year.

Considering that only 3% of the U.S. population makes over $250,000/year, more people than not will benefit from Obama's tax plan.

Does it really matter? The fact that McCain listened to such a hateful preacher is enough to hold it against him.

Yes I notice it, too.

I assume that they misunderstand Obama's tax plan to tax under $250,000 per annual which is not. He only tax OVER $250,000 per annual, not UNDER $250,000.

I would VOTE Obama if I am an American because my earn is not over $250,000 per annual BUT I will STILL vote Obama if my earn is over $250,000 because I want to help middle class people to struggle with their life because they deserve it.

You mean you're voting against him because of false and misleading information?

I can't respect people who do this.

I posted the snope.com and FactCheck.org about Obama to show that it's false... I guess that they refuse to see what Snope.com and FactCheck.org say about Obama and depend on misleading/junk/biased websites about Obama...

You do realize that what you said is the equivalence of me saying "I can't vote for McCain because he was horrible to his first wife and he lies about so many things" (Anyone can find "lies" by McCain by googling "McCain lies") But ya know what? Most of those McCain lies are probably from liberal sites, just as your information comes from conservative sites. It's okay if you allow this to fuel your fire (after all we can't help it) but to let it affect your choice on who to vote? Yea, sorry but that's lame.

*AMEN*

Reba, you can't have both way.

Are you denying that Obama listened to Rev. Wright's rants for 20 years without doing anything? Obama said so himself, and it's been broadcast and published in all media, liberal and conservative. Why do you say it's a lie? Are you saying that Obama lied about it?

I believe that snope.com about Obama was been posted to confirm that it's false DOZEN of times in several Obama vs McCain threads. I guess that you don't bother to read it.

Evidently you did not even read your own links. In EVERY SINGLE one of them, Obama said that he does not agree with some of the comments Rev. Wright said, but he still looks up to him as a spiritual guidance. It's that simple.

Use my grandmother as an example. She HATES black people, she would be VERY angry at me if I ever dated a black guy (well I already did but she doesn't know about it... shhhh). Does this mean I hate my grandmother? Or does this mean I agree with her because I look up to her? No Its not that simple. I love her, she has been a wonderful grandmother, but I just don't agree with the way she thinks sometimes.

Very true! I agree with Obama.

My Roman catholic Grandmother was a racist and hate all race including kind of religions except white and Roman Catholic. She would :pissed: and negative against Obama over his color skin when she is alive. She love John Kennedy and happy that he won at Election because he was Roman Catholic as her. I disagreed with her but I love her what she was.

I disagree some of Obama's plan but he STILL have my support due economy, war issues and healthcare.

It's unrealistic to expect people to agree with everything their pastor says. I certainly don't agree with everything mine says. Does that mean I should leave my church just because I disagree with a few things my pastor has to say?

Very true... It doesn't mean that I quit to visit Grandmother because I disagree with her racist view.
