Usual Monday night weigh-in for MIL and son. Gonna have a salad from Perkins.

Botti, my husband LOVES buffets!

Lentils and chickpeas are also some of my favorites<looking at some of the foods pictures on here...>

If I get anything from Subway what I do is a turkey sub with two as opposed to three slices of turkey and LOADS of veggies on - no cheese, no mayo - on whole-wheat. I have them add: spinach, cucumbers, extra tomatoes, onions, lettuce, green pepper slices, onion and either olives or pickles. With spicy mustard! And I don't always eat both slices of bread.

Tonight I will have tilapia.

Without cheap buffets, I would probably be much thinner!

And I plan on chicken sandwiches and fun food tonight to celebrate the return of my favorite television show, Chuck!

enjoy your program and your meal, Bott
what will be your fun food? :)

Maybe a Fifth Avenue bar or a boxed berry pie. I know it's not too creative, but I kind of tend to stick to the same foods.

sometimes is easier/more comforting to have the same foods:)
I have to remember to get some pie....

Vegetarians confuse me.

I am living with one that will only touch meat analogues. Huh? No beans, lentils, chickpeas, peas and non-modified tofu?

Boca burgers and Black Bean burgers, both look good and taste good.

Yeah. I am aware of them. Just weird a vegetarian wouldn't like actual vegetarian recipes-- not meat replacements.

I have had years in my youth as an old fashioned vegetarian, and I wasn't crazy about it.

In later years I have spent some years as vegetarian for health and these made it much more fun.

Eating meat now though, which suits me best.

souggy, I was vegan for a time and eat almost no meat and avoid dairy. I personally don't go for those "meat-alternatives" like soy hot dogs much myself. I do have some soy patties in the fridge but I actually got them for hubby as he has sometimes eaten the Morningstar products because of his very bad cholesterol and his fatty liver issue. But I personally try to avoid reliance on refined/isolated soy products and focus on whole grains, lentils, beans/legumes and whole soy products <like whole tofu in stir fry>. For me I don't want to trade one potential health repercussion <much meat> for another <too much processed soy>. A few days ago I sauteed some whole chickpeas w/chilis, lime and, garlic and some soy sauce and olive oil and added them to some tomato sauce <not the pre-made sauce for pasta though I do love that; I mean just the plain sauce used to do homemade pasta or lasagna>. The tomato sauce had some broth and spices that I had put in it and I had made it thinner to make a soup, into which I put the chickpeas.

I do know different people have various tastes though.

Grilled chicken, black beans, field greens and chocolate/strawberry protein smoothie
