I had tacos with ground beef and my homemade taco spice mix and sharp cheddar cheese for dinner with Salsa. I had planned on using Monterey Jack but it went moldy. Next week i'll cook an authentic Mexican dinner at home. Lynchburg has a good Mexican store.

We're on for that tonight! Only difference is adding jalapenos (habanero laced taco joke on my roomates! :P ).

MIL treated us to pizza from Papa John's. They are the only ones here in town that deliver.

Dinner was delicious!

Hubby and I split a whole chicken half. (whole chicken was on sale for 99 cents a lb so we only paid $2.50 for the whole chicken.)

We paid $1.25 for a big bag of Yukon potatoes.

Hubby made Swiss Chalet style chicken, smashed potatoes, stuffing and corn.

I wasn't able to move about today as the RA was affecting me really badly.

SUpposedly this is "Tuscan peasant soup" according to the recipe.

Looks more like a wot to me.

King ranch chicken casserole, refried beans, caldo style rice, guacamole and spiced cake.. groannn....

tonight it is nothing for me, but the hamburger throw-together I planned for yesterday for the family.

Soup, toast, juice , milk. A simple menu for the solitary diner.

Didn't you say you live by the airport? Something about a runway vote. I stayed at a Hotel by the WPB airport when I was there for a tourney......I ordered from Domino's.

With the nature of this town and the crime that runs rampant at times, Pizza Hut and Domino's will not deliver to a lot of areas. We are right next to a neighborhood that has the worst crime in our sector. The police are there at least 5-8 times a night daily and nightly. For that reason, no deliveries. When Papa John's delivers, it's only during the daylight and the driver's have permission to carry a weapon. They call the house before pulling into driveway and have you meet them at the door. They will not stand around at your door for more than 2-3 minutes. Also, they will not deliver without credit card or debit card order. Tips are optional and if given, they would prefer small bills that are easy to hide. The car comes with no names to say they are from Papa John's. Only the uniform on the person and they show their photo ID. When you place the order, you get the name of the delivery person at that time to verify when it is delivered. Seems like a lot, but Papa John's is making an effort to provide service to as many neighborhoods as possible.

And yes - I am on the flight path of PBIA and am only 5 minutes away from the airport. I can see the dirt on the bellies of the planes when they go overhead and we always see wheels ready for landing or not quite closed up from take-off. We even see the windows quite clearly.

You're trying to make me a jealous bone, aren't you?

Change of plans for dinner again. MIL is buying us some Bud's Chicken. Some of the best fried chicken in this area.

Our hamburger dish will be cooked tomorrow. At least the meat is still good.

Today was brother's birthday, so we went out to the Lonestar for a "late-lunch" so dad and him could get back in time to catch the hockey game. No dinner tonight. I had cheese enchiladas at the Lonestar. :)
