Thank God Reba since that happened, I have moved to another town, but same state.

Since I moved out here to the country where I am now, I have had no one bothering me.

People rarely come over here to visit cause I am *out in the boondocks* as most people put it. So this house is definitely a bonus.

It's not so much as them bothering me now but as long as my son is in the state Department of Youth Services and has to go up in front of a parole board to get out, I am a little terrified that if I publicize this case and make the Juvenile Justice system in Ohio look bad then the parole board could retaliate by finding any little old excuse to keep him in there as long as possible.

I know how crooked politicians and such can be when casted in a bad light. That's what scares me.

Thanks, I totally appreciate it and am actually thinking about getting brave and trying to talk to the media. Although I do have a meeting with the juvenile court administrator Tuesday to discuss my son. So hopefully, this will be a productive meeting and get something done.

Bear, I hope your son will be out, I dont know what they will do next. They just keep catching up to keep the name bad. Yeah, leaving state wont do any better. but other town can help. Some states like oklahoma is very bad place to live. As I see, as friend of mine considering move here in Ohio, bec here does not do soo much and so much damage like Oklahoma is doing. He still goes to DOC in Oklahoma, but he found out that if he move here, he does not have to go to DOC bec the level. And but unfortunately, hard to find a place to live, bec we have humongous ignorant people about the issue of sex offenders. Its happen everywhere in USA. He try to have media to speak out about this issue, bec legal system is very abusive. But the lawyer said, it will cost him more, bec D A will do more damage toward him. So it is frightening and i say appalling. He got a letter something from Denver about those who have been wrongfully use as a sex offender. Cant remember what it called. but it is soo expensive to sponsor it.

Yep Christlove that is the problem, the system can do more damage to you by speaking out. That is the problem, the system will do anything they can to make you look bad in the media to make themselves look like the good guys.

Sometimes they will even *make things up* to make you look like you had it coming to ya. That is what I fear when going to the media about this case. While yes, I know I am in the right and they are wrong, and while yes, I know other people will see it the same as we do.

I fear what *new* things they will come up with about us to make themselves look better. I fear them pressuring the parole board into *finding* reasons to keep my son in till he is 21.

THAT is why I am afraid to take this to the media. You hit it right on the nose in your post.

And thanks for the well wishes, I hope he is out soon too.

I think, taking it to Media might be working or not. However, there is one thing I suggest is wait until your son get out of correction and start a new leaf. That is the most important and Your son is most lucky that he don't have to registry as sexual for lifetime which mean he can have better job, place to life where he want to, and no one will peek his background as public except for job purpose.

As for Christlovedeaf, I know what you mean about Oklahoma. Oklahoma and Arizona are pretty hard on S.R. (short for sexual registry because I am lazy :giggle:)... But if your friend don't need to give up and be patience to find a successful thing he/she do. It take a time. Hope all are well for him/her...

Well is it the DYS in that particualr county that is bad? There were some issues with the DYS in my state, but when the media got ahold of it, it was the catalyst for reform.
I really honestly honestly think that you speaking out might help reform it.
The polictions might not even know what's up. It might just be the result of DYS style dumbassery.
I really do think you would do the right thing. Especially since this is one of those "abusing the system" for a personal vendetta sort of thing.
I totally feel for you. While its good that we have a justice system, there are people who abuse the system.

The DYS is not the problem, that is just the instution that CPS and the courts sent my son to. Luckily, because CPS decided to send my son there, they had to withdraw from the case and give over custody to me and the state.

However, all of this originally started with the Norwalk Police Department and Huron County Department of Jobs and Family Services taking the orignal complaint and totally not investigating this case in my opinion. Then the Huron County Juvenile Court proceeded to convict him on this charge that basically has no proof except for someone's word that it happened.

I have an appointment Tuesday with the Juvenile Court Administrator. We are going to talk about my son. Hopefully, this goes somewhere. But if not, I may take this to the media. But before I do that, I will ask my son if he is prepared for it. As alot of things may happen.

If my son says no, then I will respect that as he is one of the ones that will have to live in the media attention and also he may be given a harder time by the people involved in this case.

Not only do I have to be prepared but so does he.

Yes I has to agree that you should ask/talk those issues with your son first before prepare something. Yes, I also agree with you for respect your son's wish if he says no.

As an off-topic but weirdly on topic side note to you DD, we also had issues with the DYS here in Ohio come out in the news. It has nothing to do with my son's case, but this hit the news right around the same time my son went into DYS.

Four teens at Scioto girls prison sue state

This is the only article I could find but if I remember it right there came out that there were alot more incidences that occured and they had to reform the Ohio DYS.

Whoops sorry *blush* the DYS is the term for CPS here in New England.
Have you gone to the ACLU? They would be very interested in a case like this! Because after all, the state has VIOLATED your civil liberties! They might also help with pro-bono lawyers and things like that.

Not yet I havent with the ACLU, but did have a meeting with the new court administrator, he says the planned release date for my son is March 8,2008. Which is only 4 months away! God that would be nice but at the same time, in order to get my son's records, I have to go through the lawyers. So will try that today, as a backup just in case they dont release him in March.

On the other hand, I think you should speak out so that your son doesn't have a record or anything. I mean they clearly violated your rights. Your son needs a clear record. Especially since this was the result of people misuing the system for revenge purposes or financial gain. I mean its like what happens sometimes in a divorce court.................you really should. Especially since being labled a sex offender isn't good at all.

DD you really think so? And if I did wouldn't it be better to wait for him to get out? So that way they cant make it harder for him to do so?

I believe as you do though that alot was done wrong in this case. It really :pissed: me off that the system can do this and get away with it.

Yes, indeedy I think it would be worth it to pursue it. I think part of the reason why you and your son got shit on was b/c sexual abuse especially CHILD sexual abuse is just such a touchy topic. But I mean you pursuing his innocence would be like.....do you remember the cases where those daycare workers were falsely accused of sexual abuse in the 80's? I mean you could really get the state on false arrest charges, especially taking into consideration Bob's past.
Don't demonize the state........but just point out that your son's troubles are simply the result of a couple of fucked up people abusing the system. Your son is in trouble, simply b/c of a very vegengant person. That is just so so wrong!

Does this child look like a criminal to you? Now before you criticize it, please remember that this is the first photo I have had of him in 4 years! He sent this to me today as a christmas photo of him. I know he doesn't look too happy, but would you? Remember, in the place they do not get a Christmas. No presents, no special visits, no phone calls from home. NOTHING!

When everyone talks about these places, it literally breaks my heart, cause to them it is like putting a kid in a camp. These places are nothing like a camp. All kinds of unbelievable things happen to these kids behind bars. You've heard the stories of adult prisons, the same things go on in these places too. They are just kept alot more quiet, because these kids are too ashamed to speak out.

Is this really how we wanna help our kids? This is a face of a child who has faced the kind of life, that others think kids should face. Haunting isnt it?

Bear, it is heartbreaking to read about your situation. I have been reading a new book by Tom Clancy called "The Innocent Man." It is a true story about how a few men got falsly accused for murder and how the system failed them miserably. Have u read it?
