What did you learn today? Part II

I have learned that there are times when an apology is not accepted.

I learned that my great aunt's house (it was the same house my grandmother grew up in) was auctioned off for $1 million and ten thousand dollars.

Oh, wow! Well, at least you can be assured that the purchaser has a respect for the property or they would not have given that price. It will no doubt be maintained in a way the family would approve of.

Deafskeptic, yeah, what Jiro said. A relay chip shouldn't be that difficult to install, although make sure you find a GOOD mechanic who knows what he's doing.

Most cars do shut off their lights when the ignition is turned off these days. My old Camry (1992) even did that. Of our current cars, the Volvo will turn the lights off immediately; the Z will turn them off in about 10 minutes or so. The manual says it is "not recommended" to leave the lights on, but at least there's an idiot-proof back-up system on it.

Why did I get a car that doesn't have this feature? I believe it's a 2002 car.

Never been a real fan of stationary bikes. I much prefer the non-stationary type.

Oh really. I never heard of the non-stationary type so I looked it up on the internet. That looks interesting. I bet that it cost unbelievable expensive. Maybe, $3,000.

I learned that I forgot to eat dinner and I already had 2 glasses of wine. ooops.

I am learning that sometimes it's easier to just let it roll off your back.

My truck dongs at me, I was bad to leave my lights on in my old truck, until finally I just stuck a post-it note above the door handle that read: LIGHTS!!!

However, my truck automatically shuts off the headlights after 10 minutes, but because it dongs at me, I've only done this maybe once.

I learned that I apparently did not eat properly today either. When I got home I had a bad headache and I felt all 'fluttery' of sorts and my legs felt like Jell-O. Maybe it's a combination of dehydration from the heat and low blood sugar? Well either way, I forced myself to eat a little bit of dinner (and now I'm regretting it because my stomach is cramping). I feel better now, but I guess I am going to have to start watching myself a bit more closely in this heat. We are set to break a heat record here tomorrow from what the weather service says. UGH multiplied by three million.

I left my car lights on once or twice, and I thought I would have ran out the battery because I noticed the back lights were on, but fortunately, the lights out front was the little ones, which doesn't use battery much so I was able to start the car without trouble. The normal lights automatically turns off when I cut the engine.

Ah, no. Just a regular ordinary bicycle. I'n sure you have at least seen them before.

Been there, done that !!! :D

Hehehe..I feel like getting another glass . Starting to feel a little buzzed but dont want a headache the next day so I will just get water and enjoy the buzz. :giggle:

My problem with alcohol is that I can't just stop at the buzz, I have to keep going. Thus I don't drink anymore. Too dangerous.

What keeps me from drinking more is the reminder that there are still plently of alcohol that hasnt been digested and the fact that I HATE being drunk. I enjoy the buzz so when I get it, I stop drinking and just drink water for the rest of the night.

I do that when I go out...drink two good sized drinks and then stop. I save a hell of a lot of money that way. I went out last Fri night and I had one drink but wasnt really in the mood for alcholic beverages so I ordered diet coke...turned out that they were free. Yay..so I had soda for the rest of the evening.

I used to have the same problem as you did when I was in high school and in y 20s but I realized that when I get so drunk, I dont create memories. I dont like being totally out of control of myself. Too scary for me.

My dad had that problem which is why he is in AA.

Yeah, I admit I go way too far. Once I had drunk so much I have no recollection of what I did for about 8 hours. That's scary to think about. It wasn't just a 'pass out drunk' thing either. People were saying I was out on the couch for only about two hours. Only the Lord knows what happened during those 8 hours.
