What did you learn today? Part II

One year it got so bad here that the city was seriously considering having each of the poultry plants shut down one shift to save on water as the reservoir got dangerously low.

Farmers with livestock got first priority on water. The city banned residents from watering their lawns, and asked residents to conserve water as much as possible. They were even printing water conservation tips in the newspaper on the front page and spread throughout the paper.

Oh, that's just sad! I feel your pain! Many, many of my customers are computer illiterate. I spent hours on the phone trying to figure out that the "computer" they are talking about is in fact the monitor screen. Thank God we were not talking about the mouse, lord knows what she would have done!!!

that tv never have good news. it alway negative news. sigh. now there have drama with iran. very depress!!!!!

:giggle: I think my brother and my nephew Jeffery would have a few tales to tell ya! My brother is a system analyst and my nephew works in the IT industry.
 
I learned that the engineer who inspected the garage today is jealous of the construction that went into the garage and has said that we will have the safest house in the neighborhood if a hurricane came through. He said that we might get flooding as you would through doors and windows, but that the walls would never go anywhere.

The longer you work in IT the more of these stories you gather. Last year I started supporting the medical clinics. These folks require the best patience I can muster. I went from supporting programmers, executives, engineers, and various computer related people to medical clinicians. It was like going back to the 1990's.

Not only that, but it is very expensive and time consuming to convert saltwater into freshwater, at present it is not a practical process.

I busy lots of maitnece under to manager invesitagei remove it! he said thank me I investiage google report!, It issues lots of headache crap! I striclty more sound tough I am spending to on talk to discuss shaw to issues on my dns my shaw again crap broken on my network conflcit to 2 network SHaw techincal remoev me I said no, reason odd issues on my mobdern stranger no clue map on stranger sound look likes on system!

It may be, but they are doing it. I think it's only done in places where the local government is paying for it.

that might change, when desperation comes, that will change the priority of 'costs'...
i mean right now, on earth only 1% of the world's water is drinkable, that is a fact, -scary!
 
I learned that it is quite a small world. Turns out me and another ADer have a mutual friend and did not realize it until today.
