Slept in.

Took Cat to the vet for a follow up. Vet still thinks he's got overactive thryoid.
So we go back in a month time.

Helped sis pack up.

If it is 270,063 (cant be two 7's)

The value would be 70,000

Then write it in 4 different ways (270,063), not the 7

1. 200,000 + 70,000 + 60 + 3

2. two hundred seventy thousand, sixty-three

3. Use place value blocks to show the number

4. put it on a number line.


That's 4 different ways of showing 270,063.

There are many other tough questions like

How do you rename 2,300?

The answer is 23 hundreds or 230 tens.

My students are required to understand that level of thinking in math. That's the 3rd grade standard. :)

I think both Botts and I feel humiliated. I think we need a refresher course!

I didnt have the lesson with me. I am teaching my students math reasoning with numbers up to 999,999. In 4th grade, it is numbers up to the billions.

how will I be able to face my future child if he/she asks me this kind of question?

hopefully my "ask your mom. daddy is busy" excuse would work for a while.
 
OHhh! I was thinking too logically I guess.. I remember that kind of question now..
 
I read that whole math stuff, and even that was just about beyond me. I need to go back to 3rd grade! :lol:

Eh. Applying online is next to a waste of time today. You would have better luck to pound the pavement and apply in person, and ask to speak to the manager. That way, you have an edge: your effort will be noted.
 
Drank coffee. Need lots of it! Didn't sleep well. Cat stomping all over my hair, as usual.
