What did you do today? Part II

I met with my manager for the first time in person and she gave me my yearly performance review. One of the best reviews I've ever had. The things to work on included taking on more responsibility for a stretch assignment or project. Nothing wrong with that.

My only rant... Why does every manager think that every employee wants to advance their career... I'm happy to stay where I am at. I don't want to become a manager... I even told her this last year... She brings this up every month... Hmmm....

Today was a busy weary day for me. Had to take my mother for 2 routine female appointments and a bone density scan appointment, went to MIL's bank to cash a check, went to JoAnn fabric to get a few things and back home. Man I am tired. ad to cook dinner and I am fighting to stay awake here.

Why do you have to be that way in order for you to force you to stay awake? The longer hours and less sleep that cause short of your life. It's not quite healthy. It's better for you to consider to keep in balance. Ask your husband to do some things for your needs. That will solve your problem. I don't care if your husband complains about it. Tough shit.

Today was my first day going out by myself since my illness. I did a little Christmas shopping and even went to lunch alone. I felt great that I could do it. Came home and put up some decorations but have a long way to go. See the specialist next week, can't wait. Hopefully get some good news for a change.

Cheetah, I know how you feel. My husbands been at his job for 25 years and has never excepted a manager offer. No overtime and alot more work/headaches!! I'm happy you received a good review. I'm sure you deserved it!!!

Congrats on your great review!

Babysitting the copy machine. Erk! (Not normally a part of my job. But we're running a big project as part of an Africa fundraiser.)

Why is it farting in front of the boss? Tell 'em that's nothing, just wait until the puking & potty training starts.

Yay, after two days of staying home and resting, my flu is gone!! Whew!

Great news, Shel !! Did you catch up on any TV or anything?

No..just caught up on sleep. It was the kind of flu that if I did anything like pick up stuff from the floor, I would get tired quickly and feel like my body was being weighed down. I did think of going to work today but I was afraid that it would make me stay sick longer. I am still a little weak but not like yesterday.

Thanks!

Might want ur doctor to check you for any bacterial infection...just sayin'....I felt the same as you for a very long time...off and on. Even at times, it felt like the blood was draining from my body and I had to hold onto the counter to steady myself.....very, very weak....

I've gone thru a complete antibiotic regiment, took a long time to find the right antibiotic...so now take Sulfameth/Trimethoprim, 800/160 tabs twice a day....only pitfall of taking these infection pills is that I don't want to eat at all, have to force myself. Have lost a lot of weight, too fast!

Good Luck, Shel! My doctor told me that within a few weeks, I would notice and feel the difference!...And already I'm feeling so much better than ever....

Wait and see..it has only been 3 days. If I continue like this until the weekend, then I will make an appt. Thanks!

I am the driver for all of my mother's needs and most all of my MIL's needs. All these errands are done during the day when hubby is at work. He works for 10 hour days. He does his mother's driving on the weekend and whatever she needs in the evenings except for her weight loss group. That's my night to drive for her. My MIL is legally blind (no peripheral vision and cataracts in both eyes) and is not allowed to drive. My mother has dementia and is no longer allowed to drive.

I usually do get between 5-9 hours of sleep. With Fibromyalgia, it's not easy getting a good night's sleep and you take what you can get. For my family, unless my son is willing (and that's not often), and my daughter has not learned due to disabilities and hubby has certain learning disabilities and mother with her dementia, I am the only one left to cook dinner for my family. MIL either cooks for herself, or sends my hubby out to get her something.

You have a lot of responsibilities. What about your extended family? do they help?
