I have not heard of that in recent years. But, I do have a home movie from sometime between 1945 & 1947 from the mountains of Southern Idaho where we all had to get out in order for my father to get up one steep slope. I was just 3 or 4 years old and do not know the model of the car; it was not brand new.
 
Wondering where the "What are you doing?" forum disappeared to. Last time I searched for it I came up empty handed (didn't wade through all the "Finds").
 
I remember that movie, RR and read the book..although there was controversy over the authorship, I believe and some other things.
I'm thinking of what we're going to do on this rainy chilly Sat-

So, I asked for an terp for my surgery coming up and they said they could do just fine with paper and pen.... OK whatever, I get tired of fighting with the VA.... I had to go to second preop appointment and now they say I cannot get surgery if they cannot communicate with me effectively after surgery. ... what?! Give me a terp this will not be an issue, or am I missing something.... smh doctors are weird and the VA can be quite retarded....

This "stuff" happens!...LOL...A terp was supposed to have been there before 1 of my surgeries...in the operating room, no terp...nurses all around me prepping me and talking...the doctor arrived and put a form in front of me...my glasses were back in my room...I had to sign it regardless!...so back and forth I was being asked questions...some repeating over and over....finally the terp arrive right before I passed out and boy was I livid! and told him off!!,,,"You're late"!...and that was the last thing I remembered....LOL...In my case, they had to be careful of how much I could take to knock me out...as in another surgery, they gave me too much and had a hard time awakening me afterwards......
 
Lol Yes "stuff" hmm think i may throw a bull infront of that. Sad this is so common ... just went rounds with the nurse about communication via phone... "we need to talk directly to you"... hmm sure I will sit on the phone... plan on talking to yourself? But there is a huge screw up with the VA that I have been fighting for years.... I have the unique issue of having one personality. . But multiple identities... one of me is retired, another is male, and one is actually me... I have four birthdates, two branches of service, and various other issues.... so them catching on to communication sometime this decade is asking a bit much lol

I'm curious--How did you manage to enlist in two branches of service with different identities? Didn't they check your fingerprints or SSN?

That is the messed up part. I did not enlist in two different branches. I went Navy :) however under my SSN I have two complete identify with birth certificates, school records, shot records, even work history. They are each listed under a different borthday, my parents argue when I was born and they both fought for their date, so even the hospital has me under two birthdays.... so I learn about this when I join the navy. I go to get my SS card and they tell me about it and I get to choose which birthday I want. I thought it was the end of it... nope to this day I have files being added under both ... so move to the VA and all of its issues... some how I have multiple files there as well... smh I really am not sure how this keeps happening

How did you get four birthdates? My dad's father had 3 birthdates for him so he could change dad's age to be able get a job and support the family but this was in
the in the 1900's .

No clue... the mess up with my SSN has to contribute... but it is only the VA I have four birthdays. With the state they have me at 2. I have a roaming 1 in my birthday... one parent puts it at the day of my birth the other the year... results? I have no clue when I was born and that is ridiculous in this day and age...

LOL! Yes is very ridiculous ! My dad family had no birth record so we really have no idea how old dad was . When we went to see dad headstone on the first anniversary of this death his DOB was wrong , it wasn't the date we gave . We didn't do anything b/c as far as we knew it could of been the correct date.
I don't think I heard of this happening in this day and age until now .
