What are you thinking about? Part II

If you are just applying for a title change from Missouri to Florida it will be less than $50

If you are changing the name you will have to pay the sales tax on the vehicle. If the vehicle was a gift....no tax but an affidavit may be necessary

Duplicate titles are usually under $20.

Special note of this as it applies to CA---title of a vehicle transferred to a family member is a mere $15.00 fee. Just did that myself a week ago.

That would be nice. The annual vehicle tax is pretty high though isn't it?

Yeah, they pushed it way higher last year. I don't have the numbers right off the top of my head, tho.

No time... and too much to catch up on here... :( Still breathing, yet very tired... is it weekend yet? *sigh* unfortunately not...

I'm thinking it's time to stop surfing the net and start shopping for groceries! :P

Thinking about how I really hope I pass this afternoon!! :)

I passed my driver's test! :) I can now legally drive alone (scary thought, huh?) My only restriction is that I can't drive with more than one person under the age of 19 between 12AM-5AM... and I'm sleeping during that time anyway. :P I also have higher insurance rates. :( But other than that, everything is pretty well the same as a graduated license.

My duplicate title from Missouri was $11 which included a $2 processing fee. The $412.40 is to transfer the Missouri title to a Florida title, get a new registration from Missouri to Florida and to get the Florida tag. All so we can renew it in December. Do not have to pay sales tax. This is the fee that Florida charges. When I originally called, they said anywhere between $385 and $420 depending on the vehicle. They go by the weight of a vehicle. Now, if I were doing my car at this point, it's a 2002 Mercury Sable GS, that would be $385 for it, but I got it done before the rates changed in January. My Car and our 1995 Ford Explorer and a boat were done before the rate change and for the 3 of them it was $568. We no longer have the boat, as hubby sold it last month, I drive the car a few days a week, hubby drives the Explorer daily and the 2002 Ford Expedition gets used when the family of 6 goes anywhere together, and we have my MIL's family reunion coming up at the end of the month.
