What are you thinking about? Part II

Mostly just that ferrets sleep more, and if they do make a mess it is not nearly as extensive as a dog.

Bathing them is easier too. I used to just take our ferret in the bath with me a couple of times a week and give him a shower under the tub faucet.

I was thinking about it a lot last night because of all the mud right now and caring for five dogs is really time consuming if you are trying not to let them get the house muddy.

Also when my ferret was awake, he mostly just wanted to play with me instead of thinking of going in and out, and in and out.

I am absolutely planning to get another ferret when I am too old to keep dogs.

5 dogs is way too much for me.

Ferrets smell bad! Owners don't pick up on this sometimes and when you enter somebody's house with ferrets in it, PHEW

No one ever complained about mine. :)

But again, I don't bathe mine either. It's a tip a ferret owner gave me, if you don't want people to complain about smelly ferrets-- don't ever give them a bath.

Me too! Two of them belong to my vacationing younger daughter. As of tonight, I will be back to my own three, and they are very small.

But as for dogs, my husband told me today that he thinks we should get two more after our present dogs are gone.

And name them Alice and Dorothy. :hmm:

Im thinking that I just wished more ADers are into sport of basketball more (NBA and NCAA) :tears:

I mean, I know just a couple, but I hoped there was much more who did. OH FREAKING WELL :D

OK to update everyone:

The Bad News
My sister had a large 'dry' stroke. 90% of her carotid artery was blocked. The Dr.'s are still saying she will have permanent deficits on her left side. She will have to have a few shunts placed in her arteries. The Dr.'s are still unsure why she is throwing clots though.

The Good News
She is talking better. And remembering more and more people. She has moved both her left hand & leg. The stroke area was 'spotty' so it wasn't a solid area effected. So it looks like brain surgery is not needed.

 Believe it or not, those are perfect basset hound names. :P You can't give a basset hound a name like "Shadow" or "Rex"... you need a name that allows you to picture either an old guy sitting in a bar, or an old woman outside smoking a dart. :P

We will probably end up with toy poodles or yorkies. I guess we will just be typical old people.

They will likely have lace trimmed dog beds and we will travel the country, staying in Holiday inns.

Ifyou pass, dont buy a new car. They are a pain in the ass!

LOL! Well the most I could afford at the moment would be an old Sunfire or Cavalier. I'm fine driving around in my mom's pimped out red SUV. :P You know you're cool when!

That sounds like a good plan! Basset hounds are the type of dogs that you have to acquire a liking for. They can be very stubborn.

Bonne chance!

Thanks Royale! I'm going for my G2. I'm definitely not doing the test in Ottawa... I heard that Walkley fails you the first time. But, I did talk to someone the other day who said they passed perfectly, and they went to Walkley... that was surprising.

I'm sorry. I'll think of your sister.

oh, Ok. Also what does washing do to increase the smell? Does it do something like stimulate the cebacious gland to produce more musky smell???

Yep.

Since you washed the oil off their fur, the musk glands go into overproduction to replace the oil. Problem is if you bathe them regularly, the musk is always being produced.

Kinda like how your hair is oily for 6 weeks, if you don't wash it, then it takes care of itself after awhile... and stay clean.

I am thinking of summer, will take my first surfing lesson :)
