For how many months?

How much does a phone cost to replace if you don't have insurance?

Have you ever lost or damaged a phone?

I have never lost or damaged a phone, thankfully. I'm really careful with it, and as long as I have my phone, I'll continue to pay insurance on it, and when I upgrade, I'll have them transfer the insurance to my new phone. I pay the bill on-line, as it's part of my phone bill, but if something happens to my phone, I can get ONE free phone, but that's it.

Oh, are you in the home group? i m confused because you said, if you ever want to be on your own.

I do NOT live in a group home. There's no 24/7 staff here.

You mean like McDonald's food?

Probably more than that. However, I just gave my last few dollars to a woman who needed something, and she's 70+, so I was happy to help her out a little bit.

Few dollars? How sweet ... I just wrote my mother a check for $600 to help her out today too!!!

How generous of you! Sadly, these days many children do not grow up to support their parents. Parents should be able to turn to their children when they are old and in need of help.

True but in many circumstances it is impossible for the children to support the parents AND themselves these days with the way the job market and economy is today. My parents were smart and knew how to invest their money etc so they are fine. Me on the other hand...well... still learning lol. I know some friends of mine would love to help their parents if they ever needed it but their finances are not in the best of shape (through NO fault of their own...many factors involved.

But yes- on the other hand I can think of at least two (one who is 19, and her mother at 37ish something like that)- The mother 'games' the system(s) and avoids work any way she can... oh... and gee... lives with HER parents now. Her mother had to go back to work @65!

It's payback time baby! :P Seriously, it's expected. With the costs of everything going up, I'm already taking over a few of my parents expenses.

Thank god I haven't had to pick up those yet... Thankfully, they are super conscious of their finances and I can avoid that expense! :P Of course, when they get old I'll let them move in a house next door or something to take care of them, but they like their independence just as I love mine, so living with me wouldn't be an option for them more so than me. :P :laugh2: Stubborn people, Romanians. :P

Yep. 2 weeks ago I I gave her $1.50 to let her buy a drink, and if she needed a few dollars again I would not hesitate to do it again. That is how caring I am. I do not hesitate to help people when they need it.

Yep she footed the bill for me till i was 18 so now its my turn. So much for paying my truck off early though.

Getting ready to go to work after a 4 day weekend.

Right now, just thinking about whether I need to call the dr. Got a good sized cat bite yesterday and I think it may be getting infected. I had that happen once before and had to get antibiotics. This came from my diabetic cat who is feeling rough right now. Sigh.

Chatting with Sears and tablet hunting. On hold right now while they check for tablets that meet my preferred price range.

Just finished chatting with Sears. Got myself a nifty little tablet for $39, plus shipping and handling, and taxes, just under $55 total, so perfect. It should arrive next Wednesday.

Why do you need this tablet? I thought you already have a tablet?

Yes, I do, but it has cracked glass, and I need one without that, because if the glass actually breaks, I could find myself in a dire situation if I'm traveling, so that's what this is for. That is, if the glass breaks on my person, and I get injured. Plus, cracked glass tablets aren't permitted on buses and trains, anyhow, and I don't want a ticket for violating safety rules, so better safe than sorry.

There is a sign on the bus/train door that says "No cracked glass tablets"?

That must be a long list of rules.

Do they search passengers boarding the conveyance?

I'm currently procrastinating to leave for class. Gotta go in 3 mins and I'm still in my pajamas. :( and I can't even use Mardi Gras as an excuse, I was taking a test in class last night.

Chicago Police can, and will ask to search your bags and stuff, if they have probable cause to believe someone is carrying something they shouldn't be, and last I checked, broken glass wasn't on the list of permitted stuff, so I'd rather go the safe route than be sorry. I'm not aware of anyone actually getting a fine for breaking stuff on CTA and Metra property, but bringing something that's cracked is risky, and could lead to liability, which I'd rather not have to deal with.
