It's not about opinion. It's about the TRUTH. Your friend's advice is only partially right. Here's the full story:
He says you get little glitches just because it's wireless? He's wrong.
It's not about distance. Wireless is all about signal strength. You can also be 5 feet away and have lots of interference, so you get a bad signal. You can be 100 feet away and still get a good signal, and you won't have any "glitches." Wireless CAN be good for VP.
What you DO need to be aware of is that wireless is technically slower than wired networking. Wireless b networks are much slower than 10mbit networking, and g networks are much slower than 100mbit networking. In other words, most wireless routers are 802.11b/g but the wired part of the routers is 10/100 mbit.
You transmit more information MUCH faster using the wires, YES. Doesn't mean you CAN'T use the wireless, NO.
