Yes, ma'am! Will just ask the hubby for it as xmas pressie.
Glad you got all of that solved.
Liebling, guess we will have to get those VPs eh? I found out I am qualified for a free VP from norwegian help central, but they tell us we need to buy a phone line (hubby and i both have our own cellphones) and we would pay by the minute for use of VP. PHFFFT. Trying to get my hubby to find out the kind of model this free VP Is, so if it is possible to use a i604 to get free use out of it. MORONS! (not you, the norwegian helpcentral)
There are certain videophones that use the phone lines and not high speed internet. The
D-Link DVC-1000 i2eye videophone uses high speed internet like DSL, Cable Internet, or office internet. Here is an older article about Norway providing videophones that use a telephone line or ISDN:
http://www.deaftoday.com/news/archives/002939.html
I can't seem to find anything more up to date about that news, but if it's still the same technology, you'll be getting an MM225 clone (
http://www.scottygroup.com/mm225) that uses
telephone lines for your video connection. In my experience, videophones that use telephone lines
do not give good video quality (you may see motion blur, slow motion video, a very small picture, etc.). Also, you still have to pay for long distance calls -- if you use the internet, there is no charge because you already pay a flat internet fee.
You cannot use an MM225 to call a D-Link or Sorenson VP. The former uses telephone lines and real telephone numbers, the latter uses the internet and IP addresses, which you can use fake telephone numbers for. They cannot talk to each other.

Webcam--- VP will not work 110%
INCORRECT. VP to Webcam calls should ALWAYS work if they are both set up correctly. Videophones are the SAME technology as webcams. Videophones are WEBCAMS that STAND ALONE without a computer.
Don't forget add another D-link di-604 router suitable w/VP....
The DI-604 router is just one brand of routers. You can use virtually any router with a VP, but you have to know how to set it up. The D-Link routers are probably one of the easiest to work with, but not the most powerful or fastest or even the cheapest. On top of that, there are a TON of different D-Link routers, the DI-604, -614, -624, -504, -524, -804, -814, and more, and each one has a slightly different way to set up right.
