Webcamering and VP:

Thanks for the helpful feedback, Dennis. I am wondering if there are other VPs out there that can "talk" with any model of VP?

I might as well get this mm225 model... in case norwegians wanna talk with me over it. At least it's free. :P

Dennis..

but other brand di-614 and others... will little glitches..

wireless still little glitches how much distance away from master wireless?
I'd rather stick w/di-604 reason have ethernet plug goes to vp.. worries less.

wireless cannot guarteed good singal strong enough depends where you put spot area.

Your opnion is differently likely mine... I took my friend's advice which it's good!

It's not about opinion. It's about the TRUTH. Your friend's advice is only partially right. Here's the full story:

He says you get little glitches just because it's wireless? He's wrong.

It's not about distance. Wireless is all about signal strength. You can also be 5 feet away and have lots of interference, so you get a bad signal. You can be 100 feet away and still get a good signal, and you won't have any "glitches." Wireless CAN be good for VP.

What you DO need to be aware of is that wireless is technically slower than wired networking. Wireless b networks are much slower than 10mbit networking, and g networks are much slower than 100mbit networking. In other words, most wireless routers are 802.11b/g but the wired part of the routers is 10/100 mbit.

You transmit more information MUCH faster using the wires, YES. Doesn't mean you CAN'T use the wireless, NO.

Fine. That's great. That's perfectly good. Don't go telling others NOT to get wireless. Wired is better, but you can still get a wireless router and use the wireless for other things.

That's not worth for wireless. I always use two powerline bridges. One is at my computer room in basement. Other is at living room in first floor. That s prefect and signal is not weak. Why not you buy two bridges at compUSA store or another store.
See more info on Netgear Powerline Bridge.

What? What difference does it make? You're spending more money on a system that isn't all that great, truth to be told. On top of that, you really can't guarantee that your speeds will be 802.11b/g -- you have to deal with the wireless portion, AND the power lines speeds. Both will cut down on speeds that you could improve by simply choosing a wired powerline or going strictly wireless.

Powerline bridges are only as reliable as your house wiring -- if your house wiring sucks, so will your internet connection on those bridges. They may be a good solution in your home, but if you buy them, make sure you can get your money back if you find out your home wiring isn't that great. Test your speeds ASAP.

Anyway, back on topic. Haven't VP'd with anyone on AD yet.
