If it is money that you have available to you, it is an asset.:laugh2:

That is not necessarily true. It again depends on the type of account that was set up and it also depends on WHO set it up. These are things we don't know for sure.

About $5,000 from the website contribution was used in making bond, O'Mara said. The rest came from a loan secured by a family home.

Although Zimmerman spent some of the contributions on living expenses, about $150,000 remains, O'Mara said Friday. O'Mara said he has put the money into a trust he controls until a final decision is made about its use.
suspicious.....

you're jumping the gun already. It said judge needs more time to investigate this matter. He said - "I'm not going to make a snap decision."

I find this matter very fishy because Zimmerman had already launched this website with donation button way before his hearing. I find his lawyer's reply to be very dubious.

Did you and waterboy even read my post? I said I did not read anywhere in Sara's updates where anyone at all said GZ lied. You are right, the judge is investigating but has make no such declaration as of yet. Unlike members here that have already done so.

From Fox News:

He asked me what to do with his PayPal accounts, and I asked him what he was talking about,” O’Mara told Anderson Cooper. “He said those were the accounts that had the money from the website he had. And there was about … $204,000 that had come in to date.”

O’Mara had said earlier this month that he believed Zimmerman had no money. “I think he’s indigent for costs,” he said, adding that Zimmerman’s relatives had few assets.

Asked whether knowledge of the money might have made a difference to Judge Kenneth Lester Jr., who presided at Zimmerman’s bond hearing, O’Mara said, “It might have.”

But criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos said Lester might not react benignly. “I know a lot of judges who would remand the guy back into custody immediately,” he said. “If you’ve got more money stashed in an account and you could just pay the bond and be gone, that gives a lot of judges concern.”

Wow you are at 35 posts a day! You should be to 60,000 in no time flat. Congrats!

what you're saying is that you didn't find anything that said Zimmerman lied. I said not yet. whether or not if Zimmerman lied is still under investigation. that is what you neglected to mention.

We know George Zimmerman set it up and he had access to all the funds. It was a Paypal acct.

Very suspicious. Especially since the lawyer told the judge Zimmerman was indigent at the bond hearing, but then he comes up with $5000 from the Paypal account to post bond.

So, you don't consider not telling the judge you have access to $204,000 in donations from a paypal account when you are asked about your financial status to be lying. Interesting.

Rolling7 didn't forget to mention it. His quote: You are right, the judge is investigating but has make no such declaration as of yet. And that was for waterboy, too who confirmed that GZ lied.

Correct, there has been no confirmation. Instead of letting the court or the judge do their thing you have people be the judge, jury, and executioner. *smh*

Zimmerman most likely lied (or simply failed to disclosed it). He used $5,000 from PayPal account to pay for bond which his lawyer argued that Zimmerman is indigent for costs.

it's fine if somebody pieced a few puzzles together to see that Zimmerman clearly lied to judge. free speech, right? everybody's entitled to their opinions.

everybody's entitled to their opinions.... and since their opinions have not been proven wrong.... I think it's best if you ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh :)

GZ failed to disclose the money he had in the Paypal accounts. Where I come from, that is lying by not telling the information you are asked for.

But that aside, what the judge is investigating is when George had access to that money, and also whether he, as judge, has the power to revoke or increase bond based on the fact that George claimed to be indigent but wasn't.

Does that apply to everyone in every situation? :cool2:
