Trayvon Case Investigation

Are you dreaming?

Zimmerman did not state anything about the money before Wednesday. The court didn't ask him, and his lawyer didn't ask him. He volunteered the information himself. Check what his lawyer said.

They asked him if he had any money. He claimed he was indigent. Why is that so hard to understand? He lied. He had money. $204,000 to be exact. He had to sign a statement saying he was indigent and had no income or assets. So he was asked. And he lied.

He told his lawyer when his back was against the wall. Just like he "voluntarily" turned himself in when he knew they were coming to get him.

i am under the impression what the news reported this morning. Assuming zimmerman knew about $$ but didnt say it. :dunno:

How can you be deceptive about how much to be awarded? You ask for an amount, the court either denies it or gives it to you. But since a civil case hasn't been filed, they haven't asked for any money. Don't even know if they will file a civil case. This is about a criminal case.

This isn't about websites. It is about lying to the court about indigent status when he had 204,000 in an account.

By claiming that you are just a poor indignant family that spent all their money seeking justice when, in fact, there are millions of dollars in donations. I'm not saying they don't deserve the donations. All is fair in love, law and war!

Defense attorneys often provide clothes for the defendant and sometimes even their family.
Or they could be clothes that they've owned for a long time. Also, nice looking clothes don't always mean expensive clothes. We sometimes get nice designer label clothing at Goodwill.

Good points as well!

The suits look a very modern to me. so who knows. this morning i saw it that reporters stated that zimmerman has $. i normally dont read it but someone posted it as i read it then.

Meh, best to let the judge handle it. It was common knowledge that he set up a defense fund and technically those would not qualify as his funds. Also, having only $200,000 and facing a murder charge is pretty much destitute in my book. His fees could easily top $1 million. Now, IF he used some of those funds inappropriately then he has an IRS problem.

The fact that Zimmerman had to resort to begging on the internet pretty much fit the definition of destitute........poor and needy.

Since men's suits don't make drastic style changes every year, it could be several years old. It's not really important.

At least they show up to court dressed with respect for the seriousness of the situation.

yeah it could be anything but his suit is in style. :aw:

Indignant, or indigent? Neither one has much to do with a civil suit, though.

When the paypal funds were sent to his account, it became his money. No technically about it. The donations were made directly to him.

He lied to the court about his financial status. He claimed no income and no assets. Can't be indigent and have $204,000 in an account. And his indigent claim was used to argue for lower bail. Looks like he put his attorney in a bad spot, too. I don't think his attorney was too happy about having to go into court and admit to the judge that his client had lied about being indigent. $200,000 would be plenty of money to get to Peru where he has relatives.

First off, for me, I have no care regarding the Zimmerman/Martin case. I will let the people involved deal with it. there is so much going back and forth in all the news outlets and such that it is not easy to form an opinion.

Second off, I am having a hard time figuring out why or how a few people are assuming that Waterboy is Jillio. I see nothing that states that is so. I think the speculation needs to stop. Frankly, if Alex or the moderators had any thought that this was so, it would have been dealt with. They haven't, therefore, it must not be so.

Yup, some members went over the answer and I'm not sure about Waterboy.

Not if it was a "defense fund". Depends on how the account was set up.

Not sure there was a lie. Again it's best to wait for all of the facts

George Zimmerman isn't allowed to travel outside of USA and he had to surrendered his passport.
