Xanax - THIS IS NOT NORMAL. If the animal is placed on medication especially for depression, anxiety, or any such kind - it's because it's YOU who made it this way. No animal should ever be placed on such depression-related medication. Poor Travis was forced to live in human environment, acted like human, etc. like human. I'm not surprised he was going insane!

Yes, like what I said before that Travis's "mom" is the responsible for gave Travis Xanax and trust her friend for the help to calm Travis down without check with the Vet first.
Yes, I know what Travis's "mom" did is irresponsible when Travis's behavior began notice but continue to call her friend for the help and gave him Xanax... but I have no opinion about cruelty, etc like what you said here, all what I want to say is Travis was happy live with his "mom" for long 15 years until lyme diease affect Travis..... I personally would NEVER adopt wild animals or dangerous domestic pets...
