The next big storm?

She might bite you like piranhas lol

At the moment none of the above I'm currently in the fetal position crying!!!! :pissed:

Now ... kiss it and make it better!!!

As of now, its 45° and to many of you would be relief. Not so in Tampa, to some it's an arctic blast! Hilarious, but I guess it ultimately falls on depending where you're standing...

I'm FREEZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cold: Jess, come to meh... I shall make hot chocolate and a fire! :D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good idea to make smores! :thumb:

Already have the hot chocolate..... still need whipped cream. I'm not about to go strolling outside in -25 wind chill weather. No thank you. I'd like to stay alive.

It is 6 degrees out there and today is the first day back to work after 5 days off. Gonna be FREEEZING leaving the house until I get to my workplace.

I don't mind the cold as long as I don't have to venture out. Now, I have to return to work and I am not in the mood. I want to stay in my jammies and continue to drink my coffee.

I don't blame you-- anyone would want to stay home in this kind of weather.

It won't be long before we will all be complaining about the heat. I like cold weather, drinking hot tea, cuddle with my dog with a nice blanket. I don't know if I would enjoy the cold weather that most of you are having though.

If we had no ice I would not be so worried . I hate it when there are patches of ice on the ground and then it snow , you can't tell where the ice is anymore.

:lol:Frisky

Today it's about 16 but feels like 0 degrees with the wind, which will increase later in afternoon to make it feel like 10 to 20 below zero.
I was out earlier doing some errands and the wind was very strong.
I had on 3 sweatshirts under my coat, gloves and hat and one of my sweatshirts also had a hood.

I just dunno how you guys up North deal with all this....it's cold here too and windy...had to venture out today and hated it....supposed to freeze for 2 more nights... then the rain comes......sitting around in my jammies is no fun at all...too much coffee has made me jittery....

I hear there's another storm for the same areas this coming Monday.....brace yourselves....

As an athletic person who carries/pushes/pulls 40-50 pounds of food during the winter, I've pretty much developed a good system for keeping warm. It takes practice, but one can find a system that works. Also, athletic shirts are warm and comfortable, and do a darn good job of keeping heat in the body. Athletic pants do the same job, as well. In addition to the athletic shirts, I also combine a top and bottom long john pair, and man, is it ever so warm and comfortable! I think I'll be buying more of these at the end of the month, along with more athletic shirts for warmth. I can get these at Walmart or Target. .

We've had a few mild winters here recently but the length and extreme-ness of the cold in this area -is- different than the norm. I had to go work on several of those 25 -40 below zero windchill days recently and what we often for those with cars is- warm up the car, for one thing. It may take me extra time to get all those layers on and do the usual "getting-ready-for work" things <including working with the dog's needs> so the car can be warming up while I'm doing that.
We also brought a little heater into the kitchen, since we have the patio doors in there and unfortunately some of the windows in that area aren't so great. With that and the dogs going back and forth through the patio doors, that part of the house can get chilly....if hub gets up early to work out, he goes that way and so he can turn on the floor heater before I get into that room later.

I also wear socks to bed.

Monday and Tues. supposed to be colder than now again, like it was a week or so ago. A portion of the building I work in originally was set up to be a warehouse storage area and not meant to be temperature-controlled, so that section, and the current warehouse area, is colder than the other front entry interior part of the building. Some of us are wearing hats and/or gloves while working. The break room - which is an enclosed room with glass doors- inside the current warehouse/delivery section - has a space heater in it too on the floor and on my break I pull up my chair to the little heater to get some of the warm air.

I guess one develops a tolerance to the cold. When I was living in Phx, anything below 50 degrees was considered freezing for me. Now, it is considered comfortable. Today's high reached only to 12 degrees. Brutally cold out there now.

Just curious, when it is that cold and you dress for it with multiple layers and such, what happens when you like go into a store. Inside like the mall it's always warm, what do you do with all your layers? Do your malls have coat checks?

We set a record high today, almost 80 degrees. Things look to be getting worse rain wise. Sad:-(

We just walk around with it on or take it off and carry it. No, malls do not have coat checks that I know of. It's our responsibility.

80 degrees? I'm jealous. :tears:
