Okay I dunno how I can change or add/remove option in poll. IF mods can add 4th option of "I am neutral" then its fine with me.

Mod's Note:

I have added 4th option of "I am neutral" to the poll. :)

Looks like i can't change my choice from I am for CI to Neutral.. :-(

Great, I voted "I am neutral"...

I am neutral but i voted for CI..anyways im kinda both BUT only if someone wants it for themselves or if a parent is making the decision but is not ignorant to the fact their child is still Deaf. I am all for technological advances but it's no ones business nor should any one help make the decision (unless it's a child) on whether or not a CI is something you want.
One of my friends was pretty much told that ASL and the deaf community was a waste of time at a CI evaluation and that's just wrong. No one should judge anyone's mode of communication.

I picked out neutral becuz I'm not total deaf, yet if my hearing aid doesn't work out, then I will vote for ci.

I'm neutral, used to be anti-CI before and not wear CI anymore due medical reason, it was stopped in 6 years ago, however not interested in re-implant either, I just want internal CI to be remove from my head but wouldn't going happen in anytime.

I vote "neutral" I'm not against those who wanted a cochlear implant for themselves and I'm not going to judge those parents either for the decision they made upon their child to get an implanted. ;) To be honest I used to be against parents who made a choice to implanted their child, I thought they were mostly looking out for their own best interest, by wanting a hearing child, not a deaf child.

Can I ask, what changed your mind?

I support them....but with a coda......I do think that they are turning into a wonder drug or this decade's version of digital aids.
There is a lot of hype associated with them......and some of the audi or "heard it on the street" hype is almost akin to the relationship between Big Pharma and regular doctors.

coda? As in I support them ... but with a cavet(beware)... I do think they're turning into a wonder drug? or As in with a coda(I conclude) that they're turning into a wonder drug?

I am pro-choice, and this includes having the right to choose to have CI or not. Personally I don't want to get CI, but I am not against adults wanting to have CI.

I'm neutral. I consider a CI choice a personal issue . Either choice would be fine by me

What about adults who implanted their kids?

I have my cousin mother implanted to her son. It's her choice. I used to anti-CI. Now I realized. I can't change people to do. The reason why she wanted her son to hear. She didn't want her son to be same me in past. He can hear very well. He is such happy to hear anythings. I can't prejudge with CI. Do you against black people? It's make big difference. By the way, I am not proud to be deaf myself for many reasons in my whole life. We are different.

the first one. I honestly do support them in cases where they are REALLY obviously needed, as well as in cases where there's significent tinitutas, recruitment etc.

I understand the concerns there are about implanting very young children, but you can't say that the implant itself is bad. Can't an adult make the decision for themself? How can you say that it isn't ok for them to do?
