If the partner didn't have sex with someone else prior to marriage, then he/she wouldn't have a sexually transmitted disease. What if the partner doesn't know they are carrying an STD?

Then it's not strictly an STD.One can contract an STD genetically and may not know that they are carriers of the disease.
Herpes is the most common one.
So, it was not a sexually transmitted disease. The hepatitis wasn't genetic either; it wasn't a genetic condition. It was transmitted by blood transfusion to the mother. That's neither a sexual activity nor genetic condition. Hepatitis is a disease that can be caught by ways other than sexual activity. Now that i think of it.... it can be genetic because a person can be born with Hepatitis C (which is considered as STDs). One of my close friend is Hep-C positive from birth because of tainted blood transfusion that her mother received from hospital.

All the more reason for people to avoid sex outside of marriage; no one wants to pass down diseases to their children.

It's actually classified as an STD.
Not true.
It is classified how in was contracted.
A child may be born from a mother that has hepatitis C. From drug use then born with it.
It would be classified as a blood born illness.
Not an STD
Same with HIV.
Blood born illnesses are not just a STD.
It is just one way it is transmitted. So not necessarily by sex only.
So the spread of some STD's has nothing to do with abstinence only teaching, huh? I wonder if they were included in the statistics?True.
But sexual activity can spread it.
A child born with HIV. Contracted it due to possibly from an Infected needle. Or hepatitis C. Does not necessary mean it was sexually transmitted.
Contamination can happen in other ways.
Herpes can be spread from simply drinking from an effected glass or fountain. Such as Mono can be. Well known as the kissing disease.
Certain STD can be from simply not washing your hands BEFORE you use the bathroom.
good luckAs long he/she is faithful, no problem!
then why get into relationship? your hand and are all you need if you're that afraid about STDs. Cybersex helps as well. It's hard to trust a man or a woman when you don't know if he or she might be screwing around, what's the points in screwing around for ?
your doctor is in ABSOLUTELY no position to lecture like that. it is unethical and should be reported to Goon Squad. My friend went to the Doctor and he said that the Dr told him it is very nasty to be screwing around with multiply people.
there's idiots and crazy people all around you. you have higher chance of getting killed by them than AIDS. Beside - many people with AIDS live very long. There's AID and anyone that is sleeping around is sleeping with DEATH!!!
is that book by any chance called Bible?I won't say what book I read, cuz I'm not allow to bring up religion, but it said that a man should sticks with one wife, be clean, you won't have to worry about catching anything if you sticks with the same person all your entire life, that's great, no worry about being sick from AID, HIV or STD.
That why it say in the book which many do not read it get the bad sexually transmitted diseased, it made alot of sense why the book say about sticking with one person.
Passing on the Hep C virus is not the same as a genetic disease. This is the definition of genetic disease:well - she can still give birth even if she's hep c-positive. that baby will have hep c via birth... hence genetic.
Herpes is a viral infection, not a genetic disorder. One can contract an STD genetically and may not know that they are carriers of the disease.

But it's not only an STD. That's how statistics get skewed. It's actually classified as an STD.
