Mostly the judges. They seem to give a different sentence depending on how the mood takes them.
He could of sent this creep away for 25 years.
I hoping the victims will appeal against the sentence. They can do that and get it changed. They should not have to...they have been through enough.

You might be right but to be sure, you might want to look up citations on sentencing guidelines. Usually judges have SOME leeway but not to the extent you are showing regarding this one judge.

Why not do the same with parents who molest their own children? I am sure their children would be SO happy to see their parents put to death in that manner as you proscribe.

As much as I loathe child molestors, I have to say this is a bit harsh. Granted, I don't know all the facts in this case so I may revise my opinion later on. I'm ok with the death sentence and execution that Wesley Allen Dodd got. However, turning the stadium into a modern verison of the Roman gladitor fights leaves a unpleasant taste in my mouth.
 
I can't really say whether I am for or against the death penalty. In some cases I say "let them fry", but in other cases, I have a little more compassion.

My cousin was brutally murdered and my aunt and uncle were really devastated. It was their oldest. She was in her 30's. My uncle really pushed that the guys not get the death penalty, but the mental help he needed.

He was overcome by carbon-monoxide poisoning, but was revived at a medical center. He was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Greensburg Man Charged With Raping 5-Month-Old - Pittsburgh News Story - WTAE Pittsburgh
GREENSBURG, Pa. -- An 18-year-old Greensburg man has been charged with raping a baby who police said was left in his care.

Police said Scott Wade Smith raped his girlfriend's 5-month-old girl Friday morning at a home in the 500 block of Highland Avenue, where several people, including the infant's mother, were living.

Authorities said the infant suffered severe injuries and was flown to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where surgery was performed.

Police said the girl was crying so hard she nearly stopped breathing.

According to police, Smith made a story about the baby choking on a crayon, but paramedics didn't find anything in her throat. So, they decided to take her to Westmoreland Hospital, which is where doctors found blood inside her diaper.

"Doctors immediately notified Greensburg police, who headed to the house with a search warrant," said Capt. George Seranko of the Greensburg Police Department.

There, police said they found a blood-soaked towel in a box in Smith's bedroom, along with four red-stained baby wipes.

The mother was in class at her high school when the alleged attack occurred, police said.

Smith was charged with five felonies, including rape of a child, causing seriously bodily injury, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and endangering the welfare of children. He is being held at the Westmoreland County Prison on $1 million bail.

Police said rape of a child with serious bodily injury under the age of 13 is punishable by life in prison, and they are asking the district attorney to push for that sentence.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday. It's unknown whether Smith has a lawyer yet.

Of 6 charges were filed, I can't believe State of PA had dismissed 4 very serious charges leaving two lenient charges with negiotable, meaning this scumbag CAN appeal. GRRRR

He raped a baby? :shock: I take back my words. He deserves this sentence and more.

Yeah that's why I am not for the death penalty if there is doubt. In this case the guy had the pictures on his camera and was still with the kid. That trial should have been 5 minutes. I would also be ok with no death penalty for those that plead guilty because then they are probably saving us enough in trials and appeals to pay for their stay behind bars.

You would have find way to punishes the sex offenders whatever supreme court have approve as constitutional by followed the 8th Amendment.

I know about some rape cases are receive death penalty if too severe, such as rape on children whoever is under 13 years old, it is depends on state.

I really wish I never read this...I felt so disgusted already...
 
How to save money? Put a bullet in his head.

Really simple.. Found guilty then in few seconds BAM! (if evidence is blur.. don't shoot him because you never know he is an innocence person)

We, America, burning our money. Really pathetic.

Anything sexual toward children is far worse than murdering someone.
