Sex Offender Given 646-Yr. Sentence

646 years to life?! :jaw: That's way too long... seems like a forever. Oh, yes he won't be able to live that forever. But, to life in state prison... yikes! Soo borin'! And, yes molestation is bad news and it could catch up his life and it created him serious consequences. It's time for him to pay.... and, that is where the state prison is -- time to serve. **smh**
 
ok, let's see... a man molest a child and he should be put to death even tho he did NOT kill the child and the child can function pretty well when counseled promptly but when a man kills your parent or an adult child, you're ok with him serving 25 years life? Just sayin...

Why not do the same with parents who molest their own children? I am sure their children would be SO happy to see their parents put to death in that manner as you proscribe.

I saw Mr. Jones today as well as his long-time friend Mr. Chambers. I don't think Mr. Jones would have wanted a child molester's blood staining the turf in his brand-new stadium.

Hell no, I want the murders executed too if it can be verified without dispute. We do that here in TX. And hell yes do the same to parents who molest their children if it can be verified conclusively as it was in this case. As for how happy that would make the child I am sure the Judge would take that into account when the child's attorney filed the impact statement.

Oh really? I don't recall us having a field day for putting criminals to death in a stadium. We do it quick and clean.

But even with that, death penalty for justice is always wrong, even IF we believe that he deserves to die. It's WRONG to make exceptions when we sentence a murderer to 25 years and another murderer to death row.

Wrong is your opinion, you are entitled to it. I disagree. I wish we would use it ALOT more. I would be happy if they used it for every crime involving a gun. I am glad to live in a state that uses it. Hopefully in the future we will use it more.

I think you misstated? You're saying that every crime that involved guns should be put to death? or you mean you think we should execute them with guns?
 
Nope. I like the death penalty for crimes involving a gun.
 
IE armed robbery, armed kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon. felon in possession of firearms, etc. The list goes on. I have to agree with TX Golfer here. If it's a heinous crime committed with a firearm, the criminal deserves to get the euthanasia or go have a seat in old sparky.

Why pay $40.000 a year to let them live???? That's the cost (in TX) to house one prisoner. Some will argue that appeals are more expensive.....well, we need to reform the appeals process too.
