huh? promised? never heard of that. why are you making it up? what do you think why we have enough nukes to annihilate this world dozens of times?
oh well. deal with it. Einstein should be proud of the fact that those bombs ended the world war in just few days thus saving millions of lives.
I'm pretty sure if Truman went back in time.. he'd do it again and again and again. like Winston Churchill, Truman had made the best decision ever made in the course of humanity that literally saved the world from tyranny.
that sad picture you showed is nothing comparable to what wars would bring if a-bombs were never dropped. just millions more of deaths and sufferings.
and that sad picture is nothing comparable to what Japanese did to Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Malaysians, and the surrounding neighbors for over 30 years. The Americans ended the war in just few days. Done. The A-bomb prevented the Japanese from attacking the entire west coast. Our a-bombs killed only few hundred thousands Japanese people.... whereas Japanese had killed over 30 millions of people from several countries.
why are you blaming Truman as murderer? why aren't you blaming the Japanese for attacking Pearl Harbor? why aren't you blaming the Japanese to stop fighting after the Germans surrendered? The Japanese ignored our warnings and refused to accept the surrendered and continued to extend the Pacific War. It's their fault for our retaliation. we have nothing to be sorry about especially for that poor guy. he should be angry at Japanese Emperor for causing hell. after all... we helped Japan rebuild its country. can you think of any country which does that? helping to rebuild a defeated enemy's country?
and you're sympathizing with the enemy of the world? go leave this country right now.
On May 30, Stimson asked Groves to remove Kyoto from the target list, but Groves pointed to its military and industrial significance.[72] Stimson then approached President Harry S. Truman about the matter. Truman agreed with Stimson, and Kyoto was temporarily removed from the target list.[73] Groves attempted to restore Kyoto to the target list in July, but Stimson remained adamant.[74][75] On July 25, Nagasaki was put on the target list in place of Kyoto.[75] Orders for the attack were issued to General Carl Spaatz on July 25 under the signature of General Thomas T. Handy, the acting Chief of Staff, since Marshall was at the Potsdam Conference with Truman.[76] That day, Truman noted in his diary that:This weapon is to be used against Japan between now and August 10th. I have told the Sec. of War, Mr. Stimson, to use it so that military objectives and soldiers and sailors are the target and not women and children. Even if the Japs are savages, ruthless, merciless and fanatic, we as the leader of the world for the common welfare cannot drop that terrible bomb on the old capital [Kyoto] or the new [Tokyo]. He and I are in accord. The target will be a purely military one.[77]
He knew he screwed up. You think after what happened, all Americans supported it 100%? Wrong! Once they found out about dead innocent civilians including hundreds of children, they felt bad about it.I realize the tragic significance of the atomic bomb ... It is an awful responsibility which has come to us ... We thank God that it has come to us, instead of to our enemies; and we pray that He may guide us to use it in His ways and for His purposes.
—President Harry S. Truman, August 9, 1945
Einstein should be proud of the bombs he invented that murdered women and children? You must be NUTS.
