+1both. They are not mutually exclusive.

Prey?Christion Science people, from what I understand, do not give their children medications when they are ill. Instead they prey to the air. No science there.
Darwin was a Christian with fundamental DOUBTS about god.
When I became a Christian, my chains fell off, and I was set free.... My mind is no banded by a ball-and-chain weight called religion if that's what you mean.
How sad.Science is all we TRULY have...and...mythology.
Science Believers? Ah, I get it. You are a believer in the religion of science! Science is your religion....Instead, I think that Free Thinkers should be erased and the phrase, Science Believers (or something similiar to that) might be better so as confusion of terms might not happen.
Prey?
Does that give you peace of mind? Hope for the future? Encouragement? Joy?"Once Upon A True" has nothing to do with TODAY.
Actually the world's most notable scienctists KNOW that evolution is not a SCIENTIFIC theory (a scientific thoary is (ay all) the same as a simple everyday theory), buy a scientific FACT. Why? The genome evidence (volumes and volumes of undesuted factual data) says, without question, that evolution is indeed a straight-up FACT. This is the MODERN scientific perspective.
Forget about carbon data and all that because that old news. Today's news is different...much different. Evolution does not carry any doubts today...no any longer.

What exactly do you get from your evolutionary beliefs?
I'm curious. If you don't get peace of mind, hope for the future, encouragement, and joy from either religion or science, from what do you get them? In other words, what is your source for those things?I know this question isn't for me, but these questions are exactly why I don't believe in God. It would be nice if I believed, I mean, it would be great to go to heaven, that someone "out there" is watching out for me, that I am not alone and so on. So even if I "believed", it wouldn't give me a peace of mind, hope for the future, etc. because.. deep inside, I do not believe.
We don't get "benefits" from believing in science as you do with religion, other than the satisfaction that it is "truth".
(PS, I am not saying that science is TRUE, just that we believe it to be true)

From enjoying life. I don't need a reward at the end to enjoy what I have now. I don't enjoy life simply by taking advantage of it (sex, drugs, rock n roll, etc). I do value morals and for me, being good simply comes from within. I don't need warnings nor the idea of a bonus at the end of my life to entice me to have morals, have hope for the future, encouragement, etc. Following the golden rule is rewarding and hopeful in itself, even with a lot of setbacks.
I can take this to PM land if others feel that this is getting too religious-y.

I agree. No matter what one's beliefs are, any goodness they do should come from the inside without the expectancy of anything in return.
