San Francisco Circumcision Ban

Fact: American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend the so-called procedure. Neither does American Medical Association.

Facts never overrides religious beliefs. Now that's a fact.

Because if people don't wanna change, they have every right to not want to change. That's the keyword: RIGHTS. This is the very fundamental part of the U.S. Constitution, especially in the 1st Amendment. Every citizen born under the Constitution whose rights are protected afforded by the said Constitution.

That said, there will always be people trying to circumvent the rights of others and it's our responsibility as citizens to not only stand up for our rights but also protect it.

aww... I love US Constitution. :D

Yup, I agree with you and it is obviously unconstitutional, I bet Judge Kagan won't support it in court ruling.

Religion isn't reason for me to be circumcised because it is easy to clean and reduce the risk of HIV. It can be any reason to become circumcised, even religion too.

The risk of HIV? I am disagreed with you. Nothing do with circumcised or uncircumcised. It's people who don't know how to care about themself. The uncircumcised is easy to clean like circumcised. Just unroll foreskin and it was not hard to do it.

Can you explain to me why most Europle people who uncircumcised are less HIV than USA people?

Fact: Over 100 infants in the USA die due to complications of circumcision. It's mind-blowing how this procedure is still legal to this day. Plus thousands of babies suffer serious disfigurement or loss of penis.

Why would anyone risk the penis of an infant?

That's very extremely small out of millions.

All surgeries have own risk and complication but much rare for most patients.

You shouldn't be having sex without using a condom if you are a carrier of a STD. It's common sense.

While that MAY be true, but it's also not 100% foolproof, due to slippage and breakage. YMVM (your millage may vary) each time you put one on.

Don't point at me but at medical studies and check about what beachgirl said in her post.

100 per year is not a small number of deaths. Over a decade, that would be 1,000 lives lost to an unnecessary procedure. You are also ignoring the fact that thousands of babies have permanent disfigurement, or worse, no penis at all because of it.

True true, getting STD from faulty condom, that's gonna happen.

It is small to me, IMO.

Regardless, circumcision does not prevent STDs. That's just a myth.

Okay, so if you were to have a son, how would you feel if he died due to a botched circumcision?

They'll probably have you sign a waiver prior to the procedure so you wouldn't be able to sue them for it. Especially when no medical associations will recommend it.
