Salvia drug....illegal in many states.

If salvia is on the same level of heroin, the junkies would had abused it when it was legal to sell as a "medical herb" in many parts of the States a few years ago.

In my state, the saliva sugars are still sold in grocery stores.

Oh good god! It's NOWHERE as dangerous as heroin. Salvia lasts for only few minutes and it's non-addictive. There's no evidence of toxicity. There is NO evidence of widespread abuse.

Heroin is entirely different, it's addictive, it has narrow safety margin, and has caused serious health problems.

The effects of Salvia have been known to last several hours, which I guess is related to dosage amount and a person's sensitivity to this drug.
Salvia Divinorum

When I say on par it's to mean as a hallucinogenic drug, not about toxicity.

In drugs, toxicity is always present. Just like marijuana, there is toxicity but you'd have to ingest the THC in it's purest form to get the needed toxicity at LD50 to cause death. In other words, low toxicity, high LD50. The same goes for Salvia Divinorum though it's about 8 times less toxic than THC.

I think the sugar extract is not from the same strain or species even. I think it's from common sage (Salvia officinalis), not the actual drug (S. divinorum.)

Up here, hemp ( Cannabis sativa sativa) is not the same as marijuana (C. sativa indica ); two different subspecies. Hemp is legal in Canada; marijuana is not.

Just because they share the same name doesn't means they are all illegal.

so you are admitting that you are incorrect in your statement that the paper, rope, and clothes are not actually made of "smokable" marijuana.

kinda like..... poppy seed in my bagel is not actually opium even though opium is from poppy seed.

actually .... I am NOT playing the word game.

Word game?

LOL...

Okay...

The plant that chocolates come from is used to make cocaine.

The plant that we use for baking everyday is used to make opium.

Oh, the common herb we use for cooking everyday in the Mediterranean? Oh yeah, its cousin causes hallucinations. I guess we're not allowed to eat Middle Eastern, Greek, French, Spanish, Italian and Turkish food anymore.

Oh? Hemp. Well, technically the strain that is allowed to be cultivated for industrial use has hardly any THC. That's why it's strictly regulated.

LSA? That's found in common-everyday gardening plants. Yes, morning glory. You know what it's related to? Sweet potatoes and ong choy. No ong choy, no stir-fry that you Americans love to eat when you get Chinese. I bet a lot of members here can't bear the thought of life without chow mein.

Diphenhydramine is abused, yet people with lethal allergy are dependent on it when used in combination with Epi-Pen. If Diphenhydramine was banned, I wouldn't have been able to make it to a clinic two weeks ago after buying a package of it at your local Shoppers' when I had an allergic reaction to peanuts at a Vietnamese restaurants.

Inhalants? Well, better give up grilling and heating. Propane is used by a few idiots.

I suppose we should ban a common ingredient used in baking and Indian cuisine, because people gets extracts from it for recreational use. I am talking abut nutmegs here.

Maybe we should ban iodine, bleach and lithium batteries as well? Those are used to make meth.

Chocolate comes from the cacao plant. Cocaine from the coca plant. Two different plants. Couldn't just let that one go by.

You are right, drugs are everywhere. It's just lack of advanced skills in chemistry that stop people from buying their high at wal mart.

You caught me there. Should had looked it up to see if I had the right references (16th/17th century Spaniard documents) in mind. My apologies.

Interestingly enough.. a lot of tea, soda and energy drink companies use coca leaves even nowadays. O.o

However, ingesting poppy seeds can result in testing positive on a drug-screening urinalysis.

When I was in the Navy, including my time in the Reserves, I avoided eating anything with poppy seeds on it. I never knew when I would get a random screening for drugs, so it was better to be safe than sorry.

Does will affect anyone whoever looking for job that requires drug screening?
