Roe v. Wade - For Men

there should be an opt out if a man never wanted to be a father in the first place.
no, if he never wanted to be a father, USE contraception, period. because, duh, sperms come from men. if they can't make up their mind, buy a real doll, go and sex her without worrying about forcing (read: forcing) her to abort or breed her. that's your responsibility if you don't wanna get in deep load of crap.

Most guys CAN'T get a vasectomy until they're age 30! Doctors will turn you down unless there is a compelling medical reason for getting one at a young age.

Why everyone always overlook that?
Yeah, Souggy is right. If you're a man, you have to be least 30 for some reason.
incorrect incorrect incorrect!

WHERE'S SOURCE?? post that here please! I know two guys who had vasectomy just around 25 years old -- they both have no medical/mental issues at all. STOP spreading false information just because you 'heard' from a friend or whatever. so sick of that. do a little research yourself. friend without vasectomy is much less accurate than those vasectomic friends under 30.

I am not talking about the men who go into a relationship willingly and want to be dads, only to later cheat and decide they no longer want to be "responsible".

I am talking about the man in the OP - who clearly stated to his gf, he did not want any kids period. His gf assured him that she could not get pregnant. Then she got pregnant and sued him for child support.

He was lied to and deceived and now his life is ruined over it. When she got pregnant (she willingly lied to him about a non existent medical condition), he *should* have been given the right to opt out.

There are A LOT of men who do not want to be dads. It does not make them bad people. There are also a lot of men who were lied to and deceived into relationships (and I know its also true for women).
  so this is all on women's part you're saying .. I see. I see. tell me one thing, WHY DID NOT this stupid computer programmer ask his girlfriend (at that time) to show him a proof (such as doctor's note, discharge documentation or diagnosis report) that she cannot produce a baby?? he should have done that. if you think women saying in words, oh I don't think I have AIDS so go ahead and fuck me .. and you would go ahead .. well, I'd say good luck.

yes, and he has to pay for child support anyways. A woman can abort, a man cannot.

This thread is about equality.

Where is the equality? there isn't any.
uhhh... you just made yourself such a big fool. :cool2: those genders are incomparable anyway.

She used his disability to deny his fatherhood rights.

Happens ..... all the time.
wrong again. I have disability, at least the government looks at me as disabled and the father of the child is not at all and I have the full custody . . . it's all about RESPONSIBILITY. if he can whip his butt up himself and shape up his life, show it to the court and work, earn money to support the child/ren, more likely this parent will have more rights of custody. like me. I win. :dance2:

This I agree with. People keep touting that a woman getting pregnant is harmful to their health. Well then If they are in soo much fear for their health then they should take the necessary precautions to prevent danger to their health by not getting pregnant in the first place.
hmm, not always the case. have you heard of some women who had NO problems until they gave birth.... then few days later this woman simply died in sleep? many have . . . without any warnings. I know 3 people - 3 guys who lost their wives this way and left them with newborns .. so sad. too much for one person. I can link you to their blogs/fundraising foundations if you like.

I have been in a situation like this myself. I got the woman I was in love with pregnant she didnt want to keep the baby I had no choice in the matter even tho I wanted the child and made it perfectly clear to her that I did. When 2 people lay together they both need to be responsible and see it to term It is a human being for crying out loud that is being killed due to abortion. Thats my .02
well, you should have TALKED to her before having sex with her. not wholly her problem if you got her pregnant because then she can make her own decision; her own body. this way you won't have to deal with abortion .. yet same time you helped her to get an abortion. :)

many do and the kids grow up hating their moms because they develop a relationship with their dads when they become adults.
only if the parent was too negative on the child. I grew up loving my father because he gets me toys but then when I got a bit older and understood my parents more, hated my father for saying bad things about my mother even though some of them were true. that had me lost my respect for my own father. now my child have no father and I'm not going to influent negatives about him, especially when/if my child asks me about "dad". because I know he will realize himself. and realize that I love him (my child) so much.

You do realize that women are under no obligation to submit a DNA test?

That is another law I would like to see changed. Maybe a topic for a different thread.
incorrect. there was a person that was obliged to--IF she wants a child support from the father--only if the deadbeat denies the child is his also. do you realize you are already saying a lot of things wrong?

lots of grandparents do adopt their children's children - when their children irresponsibly bring a child into the world.
doesn't mean it's ok to be irresponsible or doesn't mean the child will not suffer because they, mostly, will. my grandparents were the one who took care of me most of time so basically, I lost my childhood.

it's "ok" for women to abort, but not "ok" when men opt out?
not sure what you're talking about -- there are some states that BAN abortion.

edit: re-read post #6 .... yeppers, definitely a can of worms ..... heh
so... you knew.. really funny of you.

Lots of "women" say they will keep a baby until they become pregnant .....

Well, I'm so sorry by then!!! If that is what make you feel better, whatever. I don't know why you are so angry and yelled at us. =/ By the way, it is not from my friend or someone else. I'd heard from doctors, thank you very much. Unless... I suppose that doctors have different opinions.....

Lots of "women" say they will keep a baby until they become pregnant .....
and if they didn't.. then probably that's best for the baby .. no? goes the same for guys. when I became pregnant, I love my decision even more and I know 99% of women the same .. hardly know anyone who 'changed' their mind. :dunno2:

lol...sorry. I wanted them to FLASH, so everybody can see. and emphasize that it's not true. seems everyone is saying here that it is true and goes on with agreeing with them without looking at sources first.

anyway, yes, probably different opinions .. but it's not the law you guys made it sound like. like my friends, if you truly want vasectomy, be a bit more aggressive and keep asking for it.

Ah, all right. I'm sorry that I snarled back at you. And, I forgive you. :)

Oh, and for the reason that I agreed with Souggy cos, five years ago or so, I was 19 and my family and I went to Portland for brain tests and heart tests. My mother asked her doctor about the vasectomy cos we have my brother, so I remember the doctor said he have to be least 30 and above.

I see. I wonder if it's the states or doctors .. souggy is in canada. one of my friends had a hard time to get vasectomy but convinced his doctor why he wanted one. successful.

So, exactly where are the eggs located?

It takes two to get pregnant.

Only one to abort.

How is it you **think** women are forced to get pregnant by men, and also, forced to have abortions by men?

It's the doctors themselves. It's not a decision to take lightly, and in order for doctors to take you seriously, you need to show you're mentally stable and you are mature enough to make the decision.

You know... the whole: do no harm oath and such.

eggs have been sitting inside women all her life so yes it takes a sperm to start but you were talking about the fathers who didn't wanted to father a child -- simple as this is, don't emit sperms. eggs never need to transfer out, but sperms do. so some guys should keep their peckers in pants.

as for men forcing women get pregnant, no need to answer that one (stupid question really) and for being forced to abort - some do when guys freak out finding out she's pregnant, begs get rid of the baby please! or I'll never love you again. or even threats kill her. or kills the child once s/he's born and makes it looks like abuction.

so it makes a lot sense why there's laws like this out there for women and little for men.

men have plenty of advantages so women should have plenty of rights.

This is laughable.. Right's? The woman has a right just as a man does to say no to sex in the first place it takes TWO people but only one of those TWO people have a say in the course of a child. Woman in marriage's have accidental pregnancys and then go behind their husbands back without telling him about the abortion or the pregnancy in teh begining..It's far too much power to give one person to obtain the right to give life or not.!

What do you think what women had been doing before Roe v. Wade? It's awful enough for you to wish your daughters not be born in that era.

Life isn't always fair. You sorry you didn't get a womb?

Women are given the gift of bearing children. However, it takes sperm to fertilize the egg. Any time you put your penis into a vagina, you are risking pregnancy. If you do not wish to be a father, stick your penis in something else. It really is simple. Tricked into fatherhood? How can that happen when you engage in sexual activities that involve penises going into vaginas? That is what they were designed to do. Want to stick penises into vaginas without fathering a child? Get a vasectomy. :hmm:

Very well stated. Just brings it all down to the final issue.
