I got the job thru Washington state job bank in 2007. I've been working since Nov 2007, so that makes it 4 years in Nov 2011.
If you want work at the front counter, work with customers to rent cars out and all that shit. Yes, you need a college degree for that position.
If you want to work as a car prep or a driver, you don't need a college degree. Car prep have more hours and are very flexible. Many college students work as a car prep at my work because of flexible schedules, etc. The downside is that you don't get any benefits, the only thing you would get is up to 3 days paid off and retirement with 401k. Also, they only limit up to 35 hours a week for car prep positions.. again that depends on the location on how busy it is or not.
Enterprise do not have ANY cars with a standard transmission. All of them are automatic, no matter what.
If you work in the winter, you still have to clean them manually in a car wash bay. We have a heater in the garage to keep warmer than being outside in the cold. I hate going out and warming up cars, scrape ice and snow off the cars, etc. Brrrrr. I had to come to work when it was -20 degrees outside.
Not all Enterprise offices have their own car wash bay. Some of them, you have to drive to a car wash and vacuum it yourself outside of Enterprise building in the back, etc. My best friend works at different Enterprise branch in Issaquah, WA which doesn't have a wash bay.
