President Obama still smoking

How is showing the facts about smoking related cuases about judging people??

Making statements about his kids loving him for it. Yep, judgemental.

Er, that was sarcasm. Do you really think kids will love their parents for smoking?

Yea, I knew it was sarcasm but on a wrong note. Anything related to kids, I dont find amusing. I never use sarcasm when it comes to children. That's what makes one cold-hearted...using other people's children for sarcasm.

Well... my mom is smoker and I love her, yet I don't smoke... I don't think I will love her as a smoker when I was a teen or child. I love her as a mother. :dunno:

Quite the opposite. The sarcasm wasn't aimed at the kids. It was the idea that his kids wouldn't be happy with it all.

It's not about not loving your parents because of the smoking, it's about not loving the smoking itself.

Exactly. And to imply anything else is being judgemental.

It's not about not loving your parents because of the smoking, it's about not loving the smoking itself.

Then you needed to leave out "His kids will love him for it!"

The whole sentence screams, "and if he doesn't, his kids won't love him."

Judgemental.

And I'm sure his kids will love him for that (meaning not liking his smoking).

I dont know what his kids will love him for what he does but I hope they love him for being there for them. Really, my hubby is a smoker trying to quit but is a VERY good father to our son and my daughter. If someone judges his parenting skills based on the fact that he is smoking, that is a sad state of affairs. There are non-smokers who are deadbeat dads. I think i would rather have the smoker but a great dad than the latter.

His family affairs are really none of my business.

The subject wasn't even on parenting skills. It's the smoking habit I was touching upon. Hence, the thread title. And I referred to his kids as saying I'm sure they wouldn't be that thrilled if he smokes.

There is always the possibility they won't love him regardless.......It happens

Worried about smoking then go to wal mart and buy cigarette so start smoking yourself and no more worries.
