Making statements about his kids loving him for it. Yep, judgemental.

smokes on occasion? You know this for sure how?
problem? what problem? I didn't create this thread nor bitch about anybody smoking.

Er, that was sarcasm. Do you really think kids will love their parents for smoking?

Yea, I knew it was sarcasm but on a wrong note. Anything related to kids, I dont find amusing. I never use sarcasm when it comes to children. That's what makes one cold-hearted...using other people's children for sarcasm.
a rather poor taste

Well... my mom is smoker and I love her, yet I don't smoke... I don't think I will love her as a smoker when I was a teen or child. I love her as a mother.

It's not about not loving your parents because of the smoking, it's about not loving the smoking itself.
Quite the opposite. The sarcasm wasn't aimed at the kids. It was the idea that his kids wouldn't be happy with it all.
Then why mention his kids?
He should do it for his kids. I'm sure they'll be quite happy, literally, if he finally quits. No?

But that is his personal problem, not ours.
And I'm sure his kids will love him for that (meaning not liking his smoking).
I dont know what his kids will love him for what he does but I hope they love him for being there for them. Really, my hubby is a smoker trying to quit but is a VERY good father to our son and my daughter. If someone judges his parenting skills based on the fact that he is smoking, that is a sad state of affairs. There are non-smokers who are deadbeat dads. I think i would rather have the smoker but a great dad than the latter.
His family affairs are really none of my business.
The subject wasn't even on parenting skills. It's the smoking habit I was touching upon. Hence, the thread title. And I referred to his kids as saying I'm sure they wouldn't be that thrilled if he smokes.
