You think giving aid to Haitians is hypocritical? You would prefer that he didn't raise money and help them? I don't understand that.

His organization has been helping Haitians before he made that statement, so I don't think it has anything to do with trying to "look good".
Why wouldn't Haitians want his help?

It seems kinda sad to me. They DO need his help, even if the intent behind it may not be pure.
Kinda like a charity who helps homeless people but the people in the charity have made statements how they think the homeless are all a bunch of drunks and druggies. Or a foster parent who thinks of her foster kids nothing but useless human beings. And so on.
And yet they still need the help.

It ia a blatant attempt to both cover his white ass, and to keep those Franklins rolling in. You think this guy will send even 50% of those donations to Haiti?
Perhaps they have some pride? If your home burned down, would you accept donations from the KKK? Agreed, not exactly the same thing, but there is relevance to the comparison.
Now, I respect your views. You sure have taken a bullet for Pat here, since I don't see anyone else stepping to the front of the support line for Pat. He does have an interesting way to garner attention. Maybe we can get a spin doctor to tell us that was Pat's plan; to make an absurd statement, knowing it would serve to INCREASE donations.

That statement is not the only one he made. He made others. I'm sure of it.
They would take any help they can get, , even if it is not with pure intentions., you know...keep my friends close and my enemies closer....
I've seen his type. He is a religious nut who thumps his bible, and shouts to the sky for people to convert to christianity. If they don't convert, and a distaster falls on them, he goes on a rant, pointing at them with a long finger, and calls them the devil.
He reminds me of Mama on the waterboy.

Doubt ? Have you ever wondered why some people PRAY when something is happened to them like the earthquake hits Haitians soo hard ? They pray for comfort, healin', help and such. If, doubt - then, there's no pray.

I am not sayin' anything about UN. Lighhouse77 talked about "nature" and doubted that it is an "act of God". So, I brought up about "pray" that people pray. We, the ADers do pray for them, aren't we ?

Well, not everyone believe it to be an act of God. Some even think humans set themselves up for such disasters and cruelty without invoking the heavenly (or hellish) powers. I think that's what lighthouse is referring to.

"Believe in him"? You don't mean Robertson, do you? Believing in another human isn't a spiritual conversion.

Do you have proof that the aid isn't being sent to Haiti? If so, you should inform the IRS of fraud.
I doubt the KKK would even offer any aid.
Interesting analysis. As a matter of fact, I do NOT support the view that God sent the earthquake to punish the heathen Haitians. Earthquakes are a natural result of God's curse on the entire physical world at the original Fall of Man (Adam and Eve's sin). That curse (natural calamities) hits all people, believers and non-believers, Christian and non-Christian, good and bad, gulity and innocent. The difference is in how people react to calamity, not the calamity itself.
I also don't support judging Robertson's motives or the Operation Blessing organization, without some solid proof that there is wrong-doing involved.
I don't watch Robertson's TV program or follow whatever he's up to, so I can't say what his motives are. His theology and mine are not the same.
