You poor thing!!!!! What boat did this guy get thrown off of? He is waterlogged to be talking to you that way!!!! First off, it's your business who you date, whether they are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or Hearing. Secondly, for this man's information, ASL is a National Language. If he calls your Sign Language childish? Then what about his English Language? Is that childish too?

He is verbally abusing you!!!! Totally discriminating your girlfriend because she is Deaf, and verbally abusing her too. I think it's valor of you to stand by her and support her. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her because she is Deaf, she is Human too!!!! Or, didn't he notice that?

I know you have stated you're only 19 years old, in college, and have no other means but to live with your mother. On the other hand, this is your home!!! Not his!!!! I suggest you go to a State Agency like the Commission on the Deaf of Hard of Hearing, and if there is a Law Disability Center that services the Deaf, and find out what both (you and your girlfriend's) Rights are. You also need to let them know how this person is discriminating your girlfriend, and demanding that you stop signing. You have rights to any language you to speak!!!! But, these issues need to be dealt with, and this man needs to be dealt with too!!!!! He cannot go around saying awful things like that and get away with it!!!!!

If your Mom is going to support this man first over you, then maybe it is time to check around and see if there is someone you can live with for the time being, and pursue getting a no contact or restraining order. You are free to live your live the way you want, not the way this man wants!!!! Who does he think he is talking to you and your girlfriend this way? It's morally wrong, and so offending.

There is no place for us to stay right now other than in this war zone. It's starting to affect my college performance because I'm not even allowed to do my homework sometimes (he often barges in and says this dog-poop-cleaning chore is more important than homework, yet he expects straight A's.) I'm not even allowed to leave the house without his permission (my mom's order). I lost my mom to this guy--she won't listen to me at all and thinks everything I say is a lie if it doesn't match what her precious boyfriend says.

My mom's boyfriend doesn't even believe deafness is real. He thinks it's just an excuse for people not to have to listen to others and to play this "silly game" (referring to ASL).

My parents are divorced, I live with my mom, and she had her boyfriend move in about a year and a half ago. My mom's boyfriend wants me to be a normal hearing guy, to forget about deaf culture, and to break up with my fiancee because I "don't need no deaf girl..." He also calls signing a childish game and says I should quit it. He's especially mad that I have mostly female friends (my fiancee LIKES that about me). (This is the main reason I have a girl in my avatar: it makes me proud of the relative "femininity" of my personality.) He expects me to know everything about the car, for example. (I don't know a darn thing about fixing a car, but he thinks that because I'm a guy, I must automatically know.) He's shocked that I have almost no male friends and a ton of female friends. (yes, he hates that about me)

My mom and I used to get along before this guy came in. But lately he's got my mom convinced my fiancee is the reason I don't get along with "anybody" anymore. He's got my mom convinced I'm a juvenile delinquent (even though I'm 19). My mom loved my fiancee until her boyfriend started putting these ideas into her head. I can't move out yet because I need to finish college first. I have 1 year to go, but I can't support myself until I graduate. He keeps getting drunk and threating to beat me up, but nobody believes me about it except my fiancee and my friends. Any ideas?

My dad was originally against him, but somehow, he listened to my mom's boyfriend when I ran away and now he is blaming all my "problems" on my fiancee too.

Since whole family are against you, Just don't invite them to your wedding after what they treated you like shit.... If I had a car, I would help you and your fiancee across Minnesota border, and your parents will not know where you are, and I would make sure no one find you, I would hide you. You and fiancee can change name, change looks, drop all old friends, start new ones here in Minnesota since I know some folks that would connect.
