Educating about the responsibilities of sex is very important. HIV, STD, pregnancy etc... everyone needs to know this, even the kids that have opportunities in having sexual experiences.

Exactly. Abstinence only has been shown to put our teens at greater risk, not lesser.

Yes, he can. IVF and surrogacy is perfectly legal. BTW, he has had a child that unfortunately, was lost. So he knows as much about parenting as any member of this board.

Byrdie is a father. He lost his child tragically, but that doesn't make him any less of a father.

Teenagers don't always tell their parents what they are doin' outside of the parents' house. That's like they don't tell their parents about takin' drugs with their teen friends.

Same thing with pukin' in the tiolet when teen girls try to be like models, they hide it from their parents as well....

Until their parents saw somethin' that is revealin' out of their teenage kids.... too late to fix all that. Parents have to face it and move on. Of course, they will eventually be there for their teen kids.

Her age doesn't matter. You said he would think differently when he had kids of his own. He did have a child of his own, and his views are still the same. He speaks as a father. Bydie is every bit as much a father as you are a mother.

Better to prevent the problems from occurring in the first place than to try to fix them after they have happened.

Well, what influences them if that abstinence don't work ? TV ? Other teens that some parents allow and they tell it to other teens and for them to try it out ( curiousity ) ? Magazine or Sex Ed ? Out of control hormones ? Hmm....

By teaching them the facts of sexual activity, by not sticking your head in the sand and believing that a teenager is going to adhere to abstinence, and by giving them the information they need to make responsible decisions and to protect themselves from not only pregnancy, but life threatening illness in the form of STDs.

Well, you can't put the leash on around their necks to keep an eye on them for 24/7. What are you gonna do about it ? You wouldn't know WHEN it will happen. You wouldn't know WHERE it will take place.

Like I said, give them the information they need to protect themselves. Abstinence only programs deny access to that information.

Well, look at Palin's daughter. Her and her boyfriend are plannin' to marry. She don't jump around with different men when the abstinence don't work. Some teen girls are smart for not jumpin' around, knowin' what it will do to their health ( STDs and so forth ). Some teens know what responsiblities are.

Like for instance : My oldest daughter got pregnant with her first son at the age of 16. She wasn't the only one. I was there for her to go through all this. Right now, her son is 12 years old and wear a black belt ( karate ). She don't get STDs or whatsoever. She stayed with her man for over 10 years.

The fact of the matter is, she is a 17 year old child pregnant with another child. Children giving birth to children is never a good situation, especially for the child being born into that situation.

Teenaged marraiges have an even higher divorce rate than the general population, and the general population is well over 50%.

I can hear the shotgun going off at that wedding ceremony from here.

Why aren't Palin's daughter and the father of her child already married, if that is the intent? They have known about her preganancy for quite a while.

Did you teach your daughter abstinence only?
