if that's the case, then it's same for liberals. :cool2:

That may be true, but it's more apparent when it comes to conservatives. :cool2:

At least liberals believe in doing something for the first time instead of rejecting an idea before it has even been tried. :cool2:

because the conservatives are usually known to be practical

I have read and looked into Sotomayor's background. I admit that the first thing I checked was seeing her stance on 2nd Amendment because it gives me a good gauge on her overall view. She's been labeled as moderate liberal and I have no problem with that. While I'm bit icked about her stance on 2nd Amendment especially her ruling on Maloney v. Cuomo case... but I slightly concur with her ruling. I thought her interpretation about 2nd Amendment was very interesting. That shows to me that her knowledge in law, Constitution, and civil rights is very in-depth and highly qualified.

So let me extend my congratulation and support for her nomination to a seat in Supreme Court. It's about time we have somebody with a strong passion in civil rights along with common sense. Scalia, Alito, and Roberts are strong voices for Conservative views so with Sotomayor on the board - that's good to have a share of liberal and conservative views together on the bench.

GOOD LUCK SOTOMAYOR! :cool2:

That's why I am so excited to have her on the bench with Scalia! She's tough and she's sharp-tongued that made attorneys reconsider their arguments.

 Oh yeah, conservatives are really cool losers. That's why you love them! ;) Boy, I love hate mails. (> . >) *be ready for dodging those mad mails*

oh god, obama's right about Sotomayor's statement:

OBAMA: "I'm sure she would have restated it. But if you look in the entire sweep of the essay that she wrote, what's clear is that she was simply saying that her life experiences will give her information about the struggles and hardships that people are going through - that will make her a good judge.

And you know, she was pointing out, in that same essay, that it was nine white males who passed down Brown versus Board of Education, which is probably responsible for me sitting here. So that's hardly the kind of statement that would indicate that she subscribes to identity politics. In fact, what she really subscribes to is the exact opposite. Which is the sense that all of us have life experiences and struggles. And part of the job of a justice on the Supreme Court, or any judge, is to be able to stand in somebody else's shoes, to be able to, you know, understand that the nature of the case, and how it has an impact on people's ordinary day to day lives.

And so her, as a Latino woman part of her job is gonna be to listen to the farmer in Iowa. And you know, if he's upset about a farm regulation. And be able to understand how hard it is to farm. And what that means. And to be able to incorporate that into her decision making. It means that she has an understanding of what a corporate CEO might be thinking. And she had those experiences as well. Having worked as a corporate litigator. That breadth of experience, that knowledge of how the world works, is part of what we want for a justice who's gonna be effective. And I think that when she's appearing before the senate committee, in her confirmation process, I think all this nonsense that is being spewed out will be revealed for what it is."

Yeppers, he nailed it. What a shame people like the Newt and Rush didn't read the speech in its entirety instead of taking a couple of lines out of context and trying to distort them.

As for the first post, I think it's... AWESOME NEWS! :D

Hmm... Interesting posts here. I see so different. Well, I prefer to look at their experience or background instead of look at races, genders, religions, politics, and etc etc.

My opinion, I think the background and experience are more importance than race, gender, or whatever it is. I meant, look at that amazing Soto! I personally do not care about her skin color, what's importance is... she had great experience. That's matter. I know some people are upset because of she is not a conservative, but my question is...

Why can't we give her a chance? She's worthy for Supreme Court. ;)

:gpost:

I read to learn her background and saw her on TV. I must say that Obama is very brilliant man and make right choice.

She is a very qualified and very experienced judge. Sadly that GOP do not want to see it but their important is conversative and background. They oppose her because of her liberal view and diabetic.

I have a question for you.

Is it consider to be racism or sexism if a while male said that white males make better judges?

What I "love" about conservatives is how inflated their egos are. :giggle:

Not so quite so, semi-liberal lady!

Basically, it's so easy to preach that Obama is so sexy president!

You forget the word have a new meaning for conservative: "Everyone know who we are, the medias have been painting a lovely and newly picture of us over the last eight years, mostly as the butt of all jokes or the villain in all politics. We are the famous of being racists, bigots, sexists, and/or homophobes, yet we are the most infamous political incorrectness. Hey, it's fun to read."

Oh no, not mention to that some liberals think a lot of conservatives are an evil. I remembered the last time I chatted with someone else.

Stranger: Hi! What's your name?

Me: Jessie, you?

Stranger: *Kyle. So, what are you interested in?

Me: Well, I like to read books, drawing something, sometime politics, and stuff.

Stranger: Cool! Did you vote for Obama, right?

Me: *pause for moment, then got an idea* Eh, no. I'm voting for McCain (Yeah, I lied).

Stranger: *shocked**pause* You're Republican, are you?

Me: Yup.

Stranger: *pause again**stared horribly* So I guess you're a homophobe, right?

 I had mixed emotions about that statement. But he seriously looked at me like I was some sorta of the spawn of Satan. Ironically, I actually take liberal advices and... you. Yep, for sure... at the last. That's why they (conservatives) are a cool loser like me. :P

Hell, I know my post is horrible. :squint:

Jiro,

When someone says something negative about a conservative, it's a stereotype, but when someone does the same to a liberal, it's truth.

I see...

Your post is evidence of the fact that conservatives cannot think logically. :giggle:
