 When you fill out a job application they ask for your race, even government forms, how is that racism?

exactly. it's not racism at all.

exactly! you got it. where are you from?

:ty:

I born in Scotland and raised in London, married to a German and live in Germany since 1985.

My mother is a Scottish and my father is an Irish. I consider myself as an European or a British.

That´s why I am puzzled over race question on application form accord Cheri´s post.

please ignore that link. it's a dumb site. What are you puzzled about? They do ask that race question in most of forms when you apply for employment, funds, election registration, etc. This is nothing racist.... it's purely for demographic purpose

Because they don´t ask me for my race in any application forms but ask for which place I born and which citizen I am, that´s all.

that´s why I am skeptical over race questions.

nothing to be skeptical about. You should know it's different in America. oh btw - that race question is OPTIONAL. People do not have to answer that question.

Yes I am aware of different system and can understand that but for me is a sort of "shock", that´s all.

please ignore that link. it's a dumb site.

I do not consider the link, I provided is a dumb because the US citizens have the right to express what they view the U.S. Cenus Bureau as "racism" itself.

I suppose you learned something new today! :cool2:

ok so what do you call the people's POV who think Obama is a communist or an Islamic terrorist? What do you call Klu Klux Klan's view of minorities? IMO - those kind of idiots do not deserve rights to express that ignorant view.

just saying... :cool2:

Thank you for provide link, Yeah I do agree with person saying "The 'race' apply on the U.S. census is truly racist".

:wtflol: uh-oh... my Domestic Dissent radar's acting up! :laugh2:

 When you fill out a job application they ask for your race, even government forms, how is that racism?
Also concept, If somebody fill out a job or rental applications, they require what somebody's criminal profile "If you are convicted of felony" by check yes or no? isnt that racist/ discrimination?

Also, If somebody fill out a job or rental applications, they require somebody's criminal profile "If you are convicted of felony"? isnt that racist/ discrimination?

uh... no? You can possibly tell me that is racist... Makes me wonder if you understand anything about this issue at all...

like I said - it's purely for demographic purpose and the question is entirely OPTIONAL. You do not have to answer the race question if you do not want to.

Also concept, If somebody fill out a job or rental applications, they require what somebody's criminal profile "If you are convicted of felony" by check yes or no? isnt that racist/ discrimination?

no. a person's criminal past (or lack thereof) has absolutely nothing to do with their race.

if i said that all african-americans were required to complete information regarding their criminal history while caucasians were not, *that* would be racist and discriminatory.

Thank you for provide link, thats very interesting. Mmm, Yeah I do agree with person saying "The 'race' apply on the U.S. census is truly racist".

do you even understand the definition of the word "racist?"

nothing to be skeptical about. You should know it's different in America. oh btw - that race question is OPTIONAL. People do not have to answer that question.

Do you really believe that they would offer or invite you for the interview if you leave race question as a blank on application form?

In America we have many different race, religions and people of different cultures that live here, the reason they ask for our race so that they can identify us better. :)

Also concept, If somebody fill out a job or rental applications, they require what somebody's criminal profile "If you are convicted of felony" by check yes or no? isnt that racist/ discrimination?

No, it's not racism or discrimination. That question is asked throughout our lives. Some companies do background checks and if you lie and say no on an application and they find out, they can denied your application, that means you cannot be trusted, because you're not honest. If you're honest I don't think all companies will denied your application if you were a felony, because you're done your time and your crimes. I suppose it depends on the employers. Safely is important to them. But, they must follow the law which states "Equal Opportunity" and "Equal Rights". ;)

Do you really believe that they would offer or invite you for the interview if you leave race question as a blank on application form?

Yes, race should not be a factor, they do interviews based on a person's qualification for the position. They must follow the law on equal opportunity and equal rights, which meaning race, color, religion and national origin. ;)

If they say they don't want to hire you because of your race, that would be discrimination, you can file a complaint. :)

I suppose you learned something new today! :cool2:

You should ask me first instead of misinterpret my post why I'm shock.

Why I'm shock because the race question is a moot since the US law consider racism as a part form of discrimination but they want to know about their race. It makes no sense...

ok so what do you call the people's POV who think Obama is a communist or an Islamic terrorist?

I would call it as an uneducation and ignorant because they don't bother to check with snope.com, FactCheck.org or Obama's website to learn Obama better.

What do you call Klu Klux Klan's view of minorities?

KKK is a hate group which is not same thing as race question because it's person who choose to be KKK, not race itself.

IMO - those kind of idiots do not deserve rights to express that ignorant view.

Is the link I posted, you referring to as an ignorant view? If your answer is yes, then I would call you an ignorant for deny the people who born with different races as us feel being discriminate by those race question.

If your answer is no, which mean is your question about Obama and KKK. Yes I agree with you for their ignorant view...

just saying... :cool2:

Yes, you can say anything what you want but your comparison over Obama/KKK with race question is a fallicious because Obama/KKK issues has nothing do with race question.
