How can at least hundreds of empires be wrong?

It's know we know Jesus actually existed-- because the Greeks and Romans wrote about him. It's also how we know the Jews have be scattered around the globe because of the Roman invasions of the Near East.

We know the events surrounding Moses in the Exodus occured because the Egyptians have similar records. We know Noah's Ark could had been true because of Epic of Giglamesh and various Babylonian civilizations have similar accounts.

Ancient history requires cross-references between many authors, many civilizations and many sources to paint an accurate picture. The problem with Biblical history is, you're only relying on one source. Luckily, bits and pieces of it can be confirmed through other civilizations' record-keeping.

But because people argue whether or not someone's interpretation of a religion is right or wrong is the reason why AD disallows religious discussions because you're basically telling that person the core of their belief may not be right-- and that is very insulting.

The Bible in fact is a historical and trustworthy document made up of letters, the Old Testament, and many other historical/biblical documents that were verified and cross-referenced with other historical documents , and even archaelogical digs that verified many of the stories in the Bible. Not talking about religion here but the historical accounts, the people, the places, etc...

Cause Man is involved and he is biased. Man can choose to see several different sides in everything. Since Man is not perfect, nothing that is man made is perfect.

Even history can be written with a slant 4000 years ago just like today.

Point is, Kokonut's fact of 2000 years is accurate, because numerous sources has pointed to that. Longer than 3,000 years? It gets trickier, and that's hard to confirm especially when scholars have different interpretation of the Bible. I know scholars who believe "one day" in the Bible equate to 1 billion year. Are they wrong for believing that? No. Are creationists wrong for believing that one-day is one-day? No. The entire scripture is open to interpretation.

And because of such disagreements over how things should be interpreted, that's why AD don't allow debates like this.

Thank you.

AIPAC must be in an uproar over this. :D

“As Jews around the world prepare to celebrate Pessah – the festival of freedom – President Obama’s condescending and insulting behavior reminds us of how we were treated by Pharaoh in Egypt,” Danon said. “President Obama must understand that we are a sovereign nation in our own land and won’t bow to foreign rulers.”

Oww! Bada bing!

Netanyahu has more balls and guts than Obama. If Obama was in his place he'd be curled up, sucking his thumb while rocking back and forth.

Didn't Australia decided to boycott Israel a few weeks ago?

That's kinda bad when a 50+ years ally turn their back on you.

I've always have the respect for the Israelis for being a small country with big heart with their mighty military, supported and equipped by the US-made weapons, who able to defend themselves against its big neighbor countries.

But Obama dump Netanyahu? Bad move.

Um, not really...

Palestine Jews and Palestine Arabs were co-existing peacefully for centuries under the Ottoman Empire and Islamic Empire.

It wasn't until European Jews wanted to leave Europe, and I don't blame them, that crap started stirring up. But two wrongs doesn't make a right.

No, they didn't really co-existed peacefully. Dhimmi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia shows the history of dhimmi having hard time under Islam regimes.

Hard for you to believe he might have a little decency in him, eh? Don't let your rage over paying a few more bucks in taxes keep you from seeing the good in this action. Standing up to coward bullies like Israel is far more important to humanity, as a species, than any current domestic issue.

What color is the sky in your world?

Israel a bully?

Too broad of a topic since it could means anything from Spain to Albania to Mughal Empire in India-- the rulers treat their subjects differently in differing regions. Usually historians focus on a region or specific topic. In this case, the Palestine.

and what..pray tell .. compelled them to leave?

Was it because they were bullies? :giggle:

Oh, so you want a specific country.... ok, here is it: Brief History of Palestine - especially this "It is important to note that there was a Jewish population in Palestine continuously. Even after the Jewish state was ended by the Romans, Jewish communities continued to exist. All of the successor governments tried to eliminate the Jews at one time or another, but none succeeded as numerous accounts testify over the centuries. When the Zionists started the modern "return" to Eretz Yisrael in the 19th Century, they were joining Jews who never left." .... One of the goverments was the Ottoman emipire.

Who exactly was King Nebuchadnezzar? What exactly are those walls in Jerusalem remnants of?

What are the descendants of Ishmael called today? Who was his father? how many sons did he have?

why is any of this important? Does it have anything to do with the current relations between the Israelis and Palestinians?

Why did Saddam Hussein think he was a re-incarnated King Nebuchadnezzar?

What's so funny is that you ask that question as if I am crazy for even thinking it. Like you are the foreign policy authority here? Your head is so far up your paranoid/conspiracy-theory laden ass that you haven't even seen the sky in years anyway, so how the hell would you know what color it is?

If destroying civilian homes and hospitals, killing children, using Geneva-convention banned munitions, and breaking multiple UN human rights laws, repeatedly, does not constitute bullying to you, well shit man, I don't even know how to begin a debate with you.

You could perhaps start with the suicide bombers that kill innocent Israelis while they are eating pizza in a parlor.

Just start there .... ;)

Or maybe the bus bombings in Haifa. Your just mad that the Israelis fight back .. come on ... admit it. Its actually ok to be honest.

Let me ask you this, do jihadists follow UN human rights laws when they kill Israeli schoolchildren?

Let me ask you where the hell have I defended terrorists? I have just as much contempt for Islamic fundamentalism as I do for illegal Israeli occupation of the Westbank and Gaza. If you're trying to imply that I support terrorism or the actions of Hamas, Hizbollah, or the Iranian government, you are sorely and sickeningly mistaken. But it doesn't surprise me that you would try to build a strawman out of me. You've demonstrated time and again that your only rhetorical tools are fallacies. Pitiful.

But let me get this right. So you're saying that because Palestinian suicide bombers kill a dozen innocent Israelis at a pizza parlor, it's okay for the Israeli government to "defend" their country by bombing hospitals and killing hundreds of unnarmed Palestinians?

Have you ever stopped to look at the facts? If you're going to make this an issue of one human life being more valuable than another, maybe you ought to look at the numbers:

If Americans Knew - what every American needs to know about Israel/Palestine

I have looked at the facts ... and the fallacies. Did you know that Muslim extremists will use hospitals for defense? Did you know they use "unarmed civilians" to guard themselves?

Why would they do that?

Why the fuck do you keep bringing up what the terrorists do? That's a red herring. They are not our allies. We're talking about Israel here and their violations of human rights and crimes against humanity, not to mention our own culpability by supporting them. Yes, I see what you're insinuating: that because terrorists break laws, it's okay for Israel to as well, and to a more extreme degree. Bulletproof logic there, dude.

It's pretty much a given that Palestinian terrorists do use their own civilians and public locations as their human shields so when attacked they'll have something to say in return. In fact, using people as human shileds is a violation of Article 51 of the 1977 amendment to the 1949 Geneva Conventions.
