You are absolutely correct! I am not an American, instead, I am a patriotic Canadian!
I'll take your brand of patriotism anytime, Banjo. Can't trust the other sort.

I honor him and the sacrifices he has done for America, as well as those who have served or are serving now. Just as I have honored my great uncles and other relatives of the past I have never met but still I honor their courage to serve and protect America. I have long since placed a US flag in memory of Major Stone and know the value and the cost it took to keep the U.S. flag flying. But you don't. That's the difference between you and I. A patriotic American versus someone who isn't.
Waving the flag and singing jingoistic songs make one a patriot? Good lord.

"When facism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."
That isn't mine. It's a Sinclair Lewis quote. But just think about what those that wave the flag the hardest and hide behind claims of patriotism are proposing.
....they saluted to every Commander-in-Chief - regardless of their political party and view. and most importantly - they do not wish for their President to fail this country.
Well said. Mirrors my points. Object to his plans, but don't harbor so much resentment and disrespect towards the legally elected leader of our great country. To wave the flag; then turn around, and wish for more economic hardship for others, is a really sad result of all those that fought for your freedom to speak.
I harbor no ill will towards you or your kind; I believe in tolerance. Good luck convincing the others here that you are a patriotic American citizen. I learned the truth in your reply to Banjo.

Patriotic Canadian? Isn't that a conundrum?
Oh you silly boy and your imagination, and to think that it took you a few weeks to make a weak comeback.
Transcript of 'I Am Canadian' Molson commercial said:Hey.
I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader, and I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber,
or own a dog sled, and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada,
although I'm certain they're really, really nice.
I have a Prime Minister, not a President. I speak English and French, not
American, and I pronounce it "about", not "aboot".
I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack. I believe in
peacekeeping, not policing; diversity, not assimilation; and that the beaver is
a truly proud and noble animal.
A tuque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch, and it is pronounced "zed"; not
"zee"—"zed"!
Canada is the second largest land mass! The first nation of hockey! And the
best part of North America!
My name is Joe! And I am Canadian!
... Thank you.

Are you republician or democrat or neither? Just curious.Canada's a socialist country. That's all there is to it and self-explanatory.
