Actually, it's the people else trends seen in polls wouldn't be like that. Deal with the people, not me.

Polls aren't reliable source, period.

Go whine, whine whatever you want.

Wasn't GWB's disapproval rating at 70 something percent during his presidency?

How long does a democracy last.

This is interesting and based on historical fact. Our 200th birthday was decades ago. One would think that with this information we could prevent our democracy from repeating history. Only time will tell. Where are we in the process?

Source: HOW LONG DOES A DEMOCRACY LAST?
Article by: G. Douglas Ward November 16, 2008
The answer is, around 200 hundred years according to our world's history. The most interesting thing about Democracies is it's broken down in to documented segments that every free nation has been through since the beginning of time. According to scholars, "a democracy is temporary in nature and cannot exist as a permanent form of government." "A democracy will continue to exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury." "From that moment, the voters always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship." The 200 average years of democracies normally takes the following route to its own self destruction.
First, a democracy springs from bondage to spiritual faith. Then, spiritual faith inspires great courage. From great courage springs liberty. Freedom and liberty then transform into abundance. (And here is where we are unable to see ourselves now). Our over abundance reduces us to complacency. Then, the people go from complacency to apathy. We then degrade ourselves from apathy to dependence (welfare). Finally, we go from dependence back into bondage. With these facts in mind, let's take a look at the 2000 election facts. This will give you pause, as it did me.

The number of states won by the Democrat party: 19
The number of states won by the Republican party: 29
The square miles won by the Democrat party: 580 thousand
The square miles won by the Republican party: 2.49 million
The population of counties won by Democrats: 129 million
The population of counties won by Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate in counties (per 100,000) won by Democrats: 13.2
Murder rate in counties (per 100,000) won by Republicans: 2.1
The vast majority of votes for the Democrat party came from areas of government subsidized homes with large amounts of welfare / social service hand-outs, while the Republican votes came from mostly areas where hard working citizens owned their own homes and the lands on which they were built. According to the scholars, our country has already reached the governmental dependency stage and, if amnesty is granted to the over 20 million illegal aliens now living in this country, this democracy will fall within the next five years.
There is an old saying that goes, "You made your bed, now sleep in it!" Well, we certainly made our bed in this election...but I don't think we'll be getting much sleep!

I have never been a big fan of polls. It's funny that in my almost half century on this planet nobody has ever asked me.

Exactly. They are never representative of the whole population, by virtue of the way in which responders are selected. They are basically useless.

Unreal.

Based on location and content, I assume this is your rebuttal to me.

All I can say is, you want Obama to fail. You admitted it. You did not mention anything about hoping your fellow Americans are not in the crosshairs of your agenda. You want suffering to worsen-continue; all to further your personal political agenda and preference. If he turned things around, no matter the method, you would NEVER back him, simply because of his party affiliation. That is the core of all your words. You spend hours a day researching, posting, and preaching the same gospel of Conservatism. I am MOR (Middle of road) and if you hoped your words, debating style, etc would sway me, you have missed the boat. I am slowly switching sides just because of people like you. All these idiot broadcasters riling up the citizens to revolt are helping me to see the light. Goodness, I might be a Liberal soon!

You comment about wanting Obama to fail, yet write words such as not wanting bread lines. You constantly contradict yourself, then respond to posters that call you out by swirling words in a mixing bowl and lining them up to suit your needs. I am not college educated, but I don't need a degree to smell bullshit. Good luck culling your small flock of sheep over the cliff to party-only voting. No need to think while you vote; just look for the (R).

Now feel free to use your wonderful mastery of words to point out that (A) I am a fool; and (B) attacking you, not the topic; and (C) I am hijacking the thread. It does not matter; you have shown your soft underbelly by admitting your agenda supercedes your wishes for a better USA.

Good luck to you, my fellow American.

Someone's total lack of ethics and honesty have once again been exposed.:giggle:

Good luck to you, my fellow American.

wow you are brave to extend him a courtesy by saying a fellow American. I'm embarrassed to call him an American because it would further confirm foreigner's stereotypical belief about us Americans especially the Caucasians - bigot, racist, and arrogant :(

that's why I'm pinning my hope on Obama to improve our image as a multicultural-friendly, multi-religion-friendly country. I mean.. recall that farce about bowing and shaking hand with Japanese Emperor as a sign of subservience and not a sign of humble respect to its culture as a guest of Japan? yea.... you wonder why we have negative image as crass Mr. Cable Guy

You wouldn't believe the amount of stereotypical comments I get about America from my new foreigner friends. They still think NYC is the most dangerous city in USA because of Harlem and black people

It takes all types to make a country. Some will be even further right than he is, but we all gotta get along. My father fought for his freedom to write his words, even if I despise the direction of them.

I am as white as a man can get, except for little brown dots on my skin, but I respect all colors of skin; all religious choices; all sexual preferences. I may not always agree with them, but I respect them anyway. It is not my decision on whether it is right. That is to each individual and their God.

Good luck to you, my fellow American.

From what I can tell seems like you want Obama to succeed by ensuring continued record deficit spendings, increase on taxation on whatever that move and don't move resulting in more and more businesses to fail, limiting states' rights, increase centralization of the govt, increase in the unemployment rate, limiting free speech and ideas, and so on? If so, why? I have not heard one single criticism about Obama and his policy and massive spending. So, I doubt the claim of "MOR" based on my observations. Obama is drastically to the left of any "MOR" claims. I'm not afraid to criticize but what's funny is how people continue to justify his position and actions time and time again not realizing the damage he is doing to the economy now and into the future. I hope you get a good paying and secure job very soon. No one likes to be out of work. But people already or are beginning to realize the lies being told time and time again from this administration. You're displacing your anger at the wrong person here. Look to Obama as a source for your consternation, not me.

Wonderfully wise words.

You do realize, don't you, that Obama is completely controlling your thoughts and actions? You spend about 20 hours out of every 24 period obsessively googling, reading, typing, or voicing the name "Obama." There are people who have been happily married for 50+ years that have not invoked the name of their beloved partner as many times in the entire 50 years as you have invoked the name of Obama in a single year. The man has you by the proverbial balls, and is leading you around the Oval office for all to be amused by.

My families have also fought for your freedom to write your words as well. My cousin even gave his life with a bodyfull of shrapnels imbedded from a thrown exploded grenade in Kuwait in 2003 in the effort to help protect and ensure freedom in America by going after the enemy abroad. My great uncle took a Japanese sniper bullet in the back on one of the islands in the Pacific during WWII. My nephew did three tours in Iraq as a Marine who narrowly escaped an incoming rocket. His father which is my brother served as a Marine early in his life. My sister in the Air Force and Army. A few others of my extended family or cousins are also in the Armed Forces with one currently in Afghanistan. So, yeah, I'm proud of them all for serving our country and I realized for a long, long time ago that freedom is never free but it is fought with blood just so people can have the freedom to write and use me as their verbal punching bag because they want to and not just because they can. Isn't America great? (sarcasm) Of course, I know where I stand. I stand true to my conviction and beliefs. Everybody deserve a chance to experience freedom and liberty, but the laws must be obeyed and not abused nor circumvented. Thank God for our American soldiers. America is a great, great nation. There is no need to be sorry or guilty about our country.

what your cousins, sister, nephew, and relatives did for America do not justify your wish for their Commander in Chief to fail America. The nation has voted for Obama and the soldiers including your relatives salute to Obama as their Commander in Chief.

Exactly. In fact, he has dishonored their contributions to this country with such an attitude.
