NYC now the safest big city!

How can I fail to understand your post when I said:

HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE - WE ALL KNEW THAT.

Not interested to talk with anyone who is trolling like you.

ratio changes. population changes. so far - despite of changes, NYC has been consistent in reducing the murder rate... whereas - cities like London, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, etc. remain high on crime rate.

Again, I said when using a fixed population figure for the year along with the total murder rate. Ratio does not change when using "per 100,000" or "per 1,000", ratio does not and cannot change for that year's murder rate.

Face it, you're cornered.

Mod's Note:

Alright, you guys---Let's play nice or ignore each other.

Consider this a final warning!

huh? are you confusing me with foxrac? I've never said ratio changes for 1,000 or 10,000 or 100,000. :dunno:

I don't know how this thread turns into some mumba jumba drama.

it's simple. the change is crystal-clear.

1990 - 2,245 murders (7,322,564 people)
2009 - 461 murders (8,363,710 people)

result is in - NYC is the safest city in USA :)

Yup, the crime rate in many largest US cities are high in 1990 like LA has 1,200 murders in 1992 when population was around 3.4 million.

Yeah...Seattle peaked 65 murders in 1960's now it's hovering in 25-30 murders a year mark.

You started confused us because I never say like that, except for crime report is usually counted based on 100,000 so I know it is part of ratio.

I know about how ratio works in long time ago and you just want put me into confusion.

Look at the topic:
Safest BIG city.

interesting ranking system that Forbes uses by including lowest rates of violent crime, workplace deaths, fatal crashes and natural disasters.

America's Safest Cities

NYC is ranked #8 and Denver at #10 :aw:

Seattle's ranked at 4th. I see we have a pretty low risk of natural disasters, but anything can happen.

;)

Seriously though I call this place a town, but its actually a city. If you wanted to call this place a city, the murder ratio is pretty damn low.

over 6 years with 3 murders... 100,000 people. amounts to .375:100,000

the crime trends obviously vary among cities. Interestingly enough - the climate plays a large factor in type of criminal activity. For ie - murder rate is low in cold town but DUI/drug use tend to be high.

not really.

Is that for per 6 years or by per year? If it's by per 6 years then by per year murder rate would be a whole lot lower.
