never mind TX, im too shitfaced right now LOL
too much german piss
One possible solution to this problem, and I would vote for it. Ban is not going to work BUT if any former convicted of ANY felony charges gets caught with firearms automatically gets lifetime prison without possibility of parole (Mandatory Minimum Sentence law).
Other possible solution, those who have felony on their records gets automatic search warrant specifically for firearms, while other illegal activity can not be executed. And that can happen anytime in their lifetime just like surprise random search from time to time.
Then criminal will have gun and shoot em, use your head! It only take just ONE to shoot.
There are Millions and millions of guns in the United states, don't you know that gun invented in 1232? During that year, there is not much technology but gun were able to create so with today technology, it does not take much to make gun. And I personally had made a gun and it was not hard. All need is barrel, Caliber, hammer, handle, and trigger. And my homemade gun has ability to kill somebody. This was just my hobby and it helps me realize that we can NOT eliminate guns and we can not afford allow only outlaws having gun.
Q: Does the GCA prohibit anyone from making a handgun, shotgun or rifle?
With certain exceptions a firearm may be made by a non-licensee provided it is not for sale and the maker is not prohibited from possessing firearms. However, a person is prohibited from assembling a non-sporting semi-automatic rifle or non-sporting shotgun from imported parts. In addition, the making of an NFA firearm requires a tax payment and approval by ATF. An application to make a machine gun will not be approved unless documentation is submitted showing that the firearm is being made for a Federal or State agency.

I don't support this. Too many mistakes.
ie. a felon living with a family member or friend who has a gun. it's simple - we already have a law saying that a felon cannot own or carry a firearm.
You misunderstand me, how can too many mistake? If your former convicted of a felony, and your caught with fire arms on your hand, your going to jail for the rest of your life. This is to ensure that all ex convict keep their hands off of firearms.
I mean to expand and strength "Project Exile" law.
Possess without permit: class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in prison, a fine of up to $1,000, or both
Possess loaded firearm without permit, outside of person's home or place of business: class C felony, classified as violent felony offense, punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, with a mandatory minimum of 3.5 years
N.Y. Penal Law §§ 265.01, 265.03, 265.20
NY Law -
but if a felon had an illegal possession of firearm... it's most likely because he will be robbing or killing someone. that will add a much more years to his sentence or most likely end up in jail for life.
no need to expand law since it's not effective enough.
The part I really still don't understand why, and may never know why would anyone trying something that offers 100% guaranteed jail time. What benefit do I see from doing something that has 100% guarantee mandatory jail admittance?
I know it is not just about guns, it is more of Human itself the problem.
Sad!
I'm speaking for those who already have felony on the record, the law you stated can be included first time felony offender.
What are you talking about? If the US is invaded said:Obviously, you have not been keeping up with the status of our military. Our troops are dispersed all around the world. It would take weeks for them to pack up, get transportation back to the U.S. even if you didn't have to fight your way back in.
Multiple deployments of personnel and equipment are worn out. That started during the Iraq war. Money is currently tight due to fuel, food and bullets. Our Coast Guard's fleet of high and medium endurance cutters is at the end of their life cycle and no new ships are currently being built.
The Reserves and Guard are now starting to drill every other month instead of every month to save money. Many are getting out because of their cut in pay.
We have lost a good number of our Special Forces due to enemy combat and helicopter crashes.
A record number of troops have been diagnosed with PTSD due to the many deployments into combat areas. Those personnel are a loss to the military.
Disabling injuries are increasing (due to IEDs).
Suicides on the battlefield are increasing in number.
An attempted invasion from a large country could possibly happen initially. Throwing all major weapons into the fray would have to be done. If that did not stop them, then it is up to us citizens as the last line of defense to do the job. Highly specialized combat tactics today have a quick punch but lacks staying power. There are millions of physically able former military personnel living in the U.S. You don't usually forget much of what you were taught in the service. The military will not have anything to give you to fight with. Hence, having your own guns, ammo, supplies.
I just hope and pray that most American's don't have that "that what my taxes are for" attitude and sit on their butts expecting others around them to volunteer to do their job as well.
p.s. More than half of our military is support personnel. Not combat troops.
Pew Research shows today that when asked the question "All in all, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in this country today?" Only 25% of Americans say they are satisfied."I don't think the the NRA is listening. I don't think they understand," Luntz said. "Most Americans would protect Second Amendment rights and yet agree with the idea that not every human being should own a gun, not every gun should be available at any time, anywhere, for anyone - that at gun shows you should not be able to buy something right there and then without any check whatsoever."
Police investigating David Gregory for displaying illegal gun magazine on-air - The Hill's Blog Briefing RoomPolice investigating David Gregory for displaying illegal gun magazine on-air
By Jonathan Easley - 12/25/12 03:08 PM ET
The Washington Metropolitan Police Department is investigating “Meet the Press” host David Gregory for a potential violation of the District of Columbia’s gun laws, a spokesman for the department confirmed to The Hill.
While interviewing National Rifle Association (NRA) CEO Wayne LaPierre on Sunday, Gregory held up what appeared to be a 30-round magazine to ask if it should be banned. The high-capacity magazine is illegal in Washington, D.C., where “Meet the Press” is filmed.
Gregory’s interview with LaPierre came in the aftermath of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. on Dec. 14. The incident which left 26 dead, including 20 children has sparked new calls for gun control.
President Obama is urging lawmakers to pass bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. The NRA, the nation’s largest gun lobby, is resisting that push, instead arguing that further restrictions on firearms will not make the public safer.
A petition to arrest Gregory for possession of the high-capacity rifle magazine had nearly 6,000 signatures on Tuesday, needing another 19,000 by Jan. 22 to provoke an official White House response.

Really?Nor can a convicted felon legally live with someone even a family member that owns a gun.
Really?
