Law Allowing Guns in Restaurants Takes Effect Wednesday

Yeah... I am 22 right now. I have no intention of going to popular undergrad hangouts any more. Just not my crowd... and I suspect you wouldn't want to go to those places for the same reason. ;)
Right-o!

Drinking alcohol is sooo over-rated. Not interested in recreational drugs.

That's your opinion, also it is your choice to not consume the alcohol.

I love to drink alcohol so it is my choice.

For once, we are agreed on something. I rarely drink but I do like to use wine in cooking. I am thinking that I will get some Sam Addams beer today though I've not had beer since early Dec.

Actually, my comment was very related. It was about the presence of guns in restaurants, and the absurdity of allowing such. Illustrated with sarcasm. And if the ability to assess a situation as an emergency or as threatening falls to people that will call 911 to report a restaurant being out of chicken nuggets, we certainly should not be trusting their decision making capacities when it comes to firing a gun in a crowded restaurant.

and that's precisely what separates CCW holders from those people who call 911 for chicken nuggets problem.

Again - got any news showing CCW holder firing gun into crowded restaurant? And then compare that number of incidents to the number of incidents where thugs (with illegal firearms) fired into crowded restaurants.

alcohol do bring the monster out of some people hence why there are more abuses of any kind when a father or husband is drunk. Not saying alcohol is the cause of abuse, but it does make them not able to think twice what they are doing.
Restaurants serving alcohol would the the reason I would bring a gun. I have no reason to bring a gun to McDonald

that's why responsible & law-abiding CCW holders put the guns in their vehicle glove compartment and lock it before entering the bars. I don't think you understand the hefty responsibility and the right mind set that we CCW holders have. You have to remember that it is very easy for us CCW holders to go to jail over minor things such as wind blowing the jacket which revealed the gun for a very brief moment. If the bystander saw that, he/she can call cop on us and we can go to jail for that. We will lose our firearm license as well.

You also have to understand that we are EXPLICITLY not allowed to intervene in any armed conflicts if our lives are not directly endangered. That's what cops are for. Let them handle it. Tough luck for unarmed people...

I didn't know that McDonald's serve alcohol. If they don't, then the new law doesn't change anything for them.

I find it kinda funny that it's nearly impossible to have CCW permit in NYC (you basically have a better chance of winning lottery than having a CCW permit approved for NYC) and yet.... all Dunkin' Donuts places in here have the sign saying - "NO GUNS ALLOWED IN THIS PREMISE" :dunno:

Exactly.

Anyway, the fear expressed by some posters was that gun carriers would be drinking alcohol. Obviously that's not a problem at McDonald's so the comparison is irrelevant. Also, as I earlier posted, the new law changes nothing for food establishments that don't serve alcohol. People were previously allowed to carry concealed into fast food places.

So Hollywood got it all wrong.

exactly why I said in my post #7 - "[any bad news about gun shootings like drug war, robbery, etc.] It's reported in news on nearly daily basis. Because of that - it breeds extreme anti-gun sentimentalism.... just as bad as Jaw movie caused mass shark killing over unfounded fear."

Why is it that there are HARDLY any news about gun saving lives?

Example below -
NV: Mass Shooting Stopped by CCW Permit Holder
In the small town of Winnemucca Nevada a man bent on performing a mass shooting at a bar was stopped by an armed CCW permit holder who happened to be in the right place at the right time. The alleged mass murderer had already killed two victims & had injured two others with gunshot wounds, but after reloading to resume his shooting spree he was shot & killed by an armed CCW permit holder who was also at the bar. The alleged mass murderer & his two dead victims were already dead by the time Police arrived on the scene once again proving that when seconds count, only the immediate responders are already on the scene, while first responders (Police) are only minutes away. This is further proof that gun free zones are a travesty that must be ended.

I have tons tons of more stories about CCW saving lives but..... it's not reported on national news, only victims killed by guns........... by thugs.

Alternative sign:

"Attention Criminals! This is a defense free crime zone. All law-abiding patrons of this establishment have been disarmed for your convenience."

Mae West: "Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

No, McDonald's don't serve the alcohol but jillio was point about shot at clerk for not have McNugget, it could be not related to drunk but just crazy person.

Thank you, Foxrac. That is exactly the point I was making.:ty:
