There were those that believed it was God's law, and that is why it became society's law.:cool2:
You have it backwards. Man made the law, and society sought to find Bible verses that would support their viewpoint. They twisted and twisted the Scriptures to make them fit their agenda.

What if God is the evil one and has been twisting people into believing that he is the good one, not Satan?
God is love and there is no evil in Him.

God allows children to be raped and murdered. If he has so much power to stop sinners, then why didnt he stop this problem?
God allows us to have free will. He doesn't force anyone to do or not do anything. If He stopped sinners against their will, that would include you and me. Do you want God to prevent you from sinning against your will?

People make such a big deal about God making the decision for us. Ok...so that allows us to hurt other people, judge people for their own private lives, start wars, and etc? To me, all those things are evil, not homosexuality.
Sin can include all those things and more.

Sorry, doesn't work with me. Homosexuality isn't a sin and anyone who says it supports child molesters, rapists, and murderers doesn't work for me. That logic doesn't make sense to me.
Homosexuality doesn't support those things. Each one is a sin by itself, just as homosexual behavior is a sin by itself.

...If we want to empower women, we need to legalize, country wide, same sex marraige.
How does that empower women? What about straight married women? What about single women? Don't they all deserve to be empowered without depending on marriage?

Reba, I so badly want to debate on religion but I fear being thread-locked. :)

Polygamy is a patriarchal institution that is bad for women and children. Thus, I oppose it.
You could say that about monogamy as well. It's bad for women and children. I suspect you are talking about polygamy as it exist culturally in some arab and african countries?

Polygamy is also about men sharing a matriarch.

You means polyandry?

That question only makes sense to people who belive free will exists. I can see it exist at a level, but not necessary when it comes to sinning. My experience, is that sinners often would choose otherwise if they truly had the choice, though the story how sin came into existence, as told in Genesis, is interesting.

I belive most sins as we know them, truly are harmful, but the term is also used to control people and their behavior. One example of this, is when modern people use it to keep an oppresive marriage between a man and woman intact. There is too much domestic violence around to make me belive in monogamy as the best solution, though I know people can thrive in it.

Unmarried couples do not have the same legal rights. This is true regardless if the couples are men or women.

I'm talking about single women, not women who are coupled with someone else. Why should they depend on marriage for empowerment? I thought feminism was about empowering the individual.
