That was a society's law, not God's law.
There were those that believed it was God's law, and that is why it became society's law.
That was a society's law, not God's law.
I agree. The two are not one and the same.

Some people do not believe in certain religious teachings and should not be forced to accept them. If you believe that same sex marriage is a sin, then you don't have to marry a same sex spouse. The same sex couples who are not welcome in churches won't bother you.
Satan's been doing that for eons.
Let's see....rape is ok and of good intentions while abstaining is purely evil.
Yup.
What if God is the evil one and has been twisting people into believing that he is the good one, not Satan?

Oh, that'll go over well with some people. LOL.

With polygamy, in theory one is responsible for all the spouses. Under Islam, for instance, a man can have up to 4 wives, but he is supposed to treat each one equally.
Affairs can come and go, start and stop, with no responsibility at all toward the extra-marital party.
So you can't really compare the two. People who don't want to accept economic and legal responsibility for the people they are having affairs with won't (necessarily) be any more in favor of polygamy than are devout monogamists.
I'm ok with polygamy in countries where it is legal, as sometimes being the lesser of two evils. I'm not ok with affairs.
God allows children to be raped and murdered. If he has so much power to stop sinners, then why didnt he stop this problem?
Ever read "The Shack"?
Another answer free will + faith. If all the good stuff happens to those who believe and all the bad stuff happens to those who don't believe then people wouldn't be believing out of faith but out of observation. That's not just with religion but anything that requires faith.
Sorry, doesn't work with me. Homosexuality isn't a sin and anyone who says it supports child molesters, rapists, and murderers doesn't work for me. That logic doesn't make sense to me.
Polygamy is a patriarchal institution that is bad for women and children. Thus, I oppose it.
