A friend told me it sounds as if I have this condition--I forgot what it's called--that affects the heart, thyroid and one's hearing. I've got all that. My mother had German measles, which was no doubt the root cause.

Any time I'm tempted to feel sorry for myself, I think of deaf-blind people I know in the DC area and elsewhere. They all cope the best they can--and they do it without whining. Try it.

Well, being in a wheelchair is my reality, and I'm not sure it's any more frustrating than another disabilty may be to somebody who has that disability. Each disabilty carries with it it's own set of challenges. It's up to the individual to arise above those challenges, and to accept life as is.

Like I said somewhere near the beginning of this thread, this thread is useless. Now, it is off topic and has a lot of imflammatory comments. Plus this thread has gone on far too long now.

Unless they were late deafened like you, many here lost their hearing in infancy or were born deaf.

It happens, Steve. Accept it and deal. Your repeated complaints and other assorted rantings is really starting to become irritating.

Time to grow up and get it over it. Crap happens, and there's not a darned thing you're gonna do about it.

Oh i can try be a hero. By hijacking a 747 like bin ladens followers did and ram that 747 into the mecca in saudi arabia and the ill be a hero. At least i died for my country.
