It must get tiring!

I'll give you $10,000 if you can find even one sentence where I'm trying to persuade someone to use SEE.

Show me the money. I had another audist around here make a bet that I won and he never paid off.

I like sugar in my coffee and tea but both black, tea can be hot or iced but no iced coffee for me. Orange juice - must be straight. I've brought barbecue chicken with hot green chilli pepper sauce dip with sticky rice. It's most popular in my neighbourhood. BTW, it can be eaten with the fingers too.

I love green chilis. A friend of mine grew Thai chili peppers last year, and I strung and dried a bunch. I am still using them to cook with. I love the flavor!

What's so defensive about what I wrote?

Is it because I wrote something and therefore I'm being defensive?

If that's the case I can list a number of "defensive" people. I'm making the statement that no one was trying to "take away from" or "improve upon the language of the Deaf". That's all.

Again, you are mistaken. SEE was completely unnecessary because ASL already was able to fulfill all the needs of the deaf population, including in the teaching of English. All the tools were available. There was no need to reinvent the wheel, except that the audists thought they could improve on a naturally evolving language. Problem is, they attempted it from their hearing perpsective.

I'll be happy to cough it up for my dear friend Jiro, after he finds my post where I said SEE and ASL were basically the same thing.

I would be shocked if you ever coughed it up. And now are you saying "SEE and ASL same" where back then you said "show me if i ever tried to persuade a person to use SEE"??? which one is it now? Ambiguous eh?

I know that. The man who was credited of "inventing SEE" lives not even 1 mile from where I live. I know much more about him than what you will ever know.

I even had the fortune to meet his own students from 20-30 years ago and compare to these in my circle of friends.

I bet you were able to see many differences in the ability to use language as a native, or even a fluent user, weren't you?

Unfortuantely, a lot of parents are like that. They think having a deaf kid is some sort of a negative statement about the parent. That is just plain silly and self centered.

I reminded my dad too much of himself , he was from Russia and had a hard here as a child because he could not speak English , and me having a speech effect brought back those bad memories to dad.
To make matters worst dad lost his middle finger as a child because his dad did not want to pay the 50 cents for the DR. And I almost lost my middle finger and dad had to pay for this . So he rejected me as I made him think of his dad who he hated.

I'm a little confused on SEE II. I assume that's the British version of SEE?
I did say I'm confused! :P

I am very confused as this is the first time I heard of SEE. I do not 'see'
what people are talking about.

There are so many different accusations flying around it's hard to keep up. That was a couple pages back. Now we've moved onto me trying to bring people over to the "dark side".

what couple pages back??? the $10k bet was that, and you said something else just a few posts later....

That's the same old CSign routine we're talking about.

And, we didn't need SEE for that purpose. English already has a mode that is visually accessible...writing.

And prose is a much better medium for English than manual sign system.

Looks like she is trying to hedge the bet!:nono:

Accusations? I thought there was just a big group of deaf people here having a party?

Is it over?
