Yes it´s an Irish drink. No, it´s not rum but whisky. They mix black coffee with whisky and cream.

A child in the Catholic Church is batptised at birth, and then must go through Catechism classes and be Confirmed at the age of recogning before they are permitted to take Holy Communiion. You didn't even realize that Catholics were Christians until Chase and I corrected you. You have no knowledge regarding the practices of the Catholic Church.

My aunt and uncle and 2 cousins are Catholics.
So that is correct.

This just proves your ignorance on the subject. The link you have provided is from the Methodist Church, which is a Protestant Christian Church. It has absolutley nothing to do with the practices of the Catholic Church. You really need to educate yourself regarding the different denominations before you make a complete fool of yourself. Leave it say that providing a link from a Protestant church as proof of Catholic practices in regard to baptism and communion is absurd.
 
Although I rarely drink, I prefer white wine to red wines and some red wines can make me headachy.

As for beer, Sam Adams is my fav.

Jillio is correct. I lived with a Catholic foster family, and my younger foster brother had to go through Catechism classes and then he was confirmed when he was about 10 or 11 years old. I attended his first holy communion.

My sister and her family are Catholic, I don't care if you believe me or not. I do not have to prove it to anyone, included you. Why bring Chase into this? That's another topic.

Well I attended my niece first holy communion on mother's day and she's 8. :)

Maybe your sister is a Catholic but you are not so you are not
that knowledgeable about the practices of the Catholic church.
Neither am i so i cant discuss the practices of the Catholic
ways but i do know that the babies are baptized at birth and all
because i have attended to them since i have some Catholic
relatives.
As far as what they drank, like wines and stuff, i dont really know.

Im a Lutheran, we have a choice to drink either wine or white grape juice
at communion service.

Thank you, Lucia. I was born and raised Catholic, and attended Catholic school. I do believe I know a bit more about the practices of the Catholic Church than someone who thinks that Catholics aren't Christians.

I brought Chase into it because he, like me, is a Catholic. I think we know a bit more about the practices of our church than you do.

Yes, the Lutheran Church is close tothe Catholic Church in many ways. The biggest difference is the absence of confession. Martin Luther split from the Catholic church because he did not believe that one needed to go through the priest to confess their sins. The Lutherans follow his teachings.

Yes you are right about Martin Luther story. That is what we
believe, we do not need a priest to confess our sins.
 
I was baptized Catholic but I know almost NOTHING about it. LOL! I remember sipping something at my friend's Catholic church as a kid. I will have to ask her about it. It was her communion.

Question: At someone's first communion, does everyone drink the wine/grape or just the person themselves?

I am very ignorant about this subject.

Without a doubt I certainly can see that this debate has been blown way out of proportion. If you re-read Cheri's first original post where she stated "I went to my niece first communion, and the cup she was drinking out of was grape juice not wine....." She did not say all Catholic Church uses grape juice to serve the holy communion so where did she say she had knowledge about the practices of the Catholic church?

She was correct about our hearing sister, they are Catholic, both of her daughters were baptized when they were babies, then later attend classes at the church, now her oldest daughter who is 8 had her first holy communion on May 11th, we all attend and Cheri did asked and we were told it wasn't wine but grape juice.

Therefore it's proves to me that not all Catholic church serves wine during the holy communion.

As the old saying goes "When you are wrong be quick to apologize, when you are right be quick to forgive".

Our hearing sister is Catholic and I'm sure she knows a bit more about the practices of her church than you do but sadly she isn't a member here.
