Butterfly girl, my OPINION is that your bra pic is non-offensive, at least to me it is non-offensive. And I was certainly not referring to your question as being bashing.

Raising the forum age to 18 would help...but I do think it is still best for there to be a separation of what material is where. Just because you're 18 or older doesn't necessarily mean you came here with a desire to see a lot of sexual material or engage in sexual chat. At this age yes, you do have an option, but having that material in the general forum where you can't do anything about it actually takes away my right to make a choice...at least, the only choice someone would be left with would be to leave the forum entirely.

And since there are some very interesting, cool people to chat with here, and things to be learned in other topics and areas, I'm not sure that's the best option. In fact, it ends up hurting diversity because you get a group of people who all have exactly the same values, in that case...

I'll back you up, Oceanbreeze...I've definitely seen avatars and stuff like that I didn't care for, but I wasn't as brave in actually saying something.

I would rather that what happens in the Penisarium stays in the Penisarium (just like "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.") and not come out to take away my right to choose whether or not I want to participate in that stuff.

Why are you talking about me what I did in the previous past when I am one who vote 'Yes' for freedom of speech to use sexual avatars and signatures when you voted no, because you more worried about the children, therefore I am pointing out that if that was true that you worried about the children, then you should watch your mouth on how you post by using sexual wording now this is the third time I had to repeat myself. It's not hard to understand what I'm trying to say. Good Grief.

Alot changes in 6 years! I have had plenty of time to mature. I have said my apologies over and over and over and have not reoffended. It's time to let the past go and move on. I am sorry you are such a bitter person that you can't just admit that we are on the same page here, but I will not continue to harp on something that happened 6 years ago.

Of course, I know that. But, all my 4 kids are adults now - no more " kids " under the ages of 18. The reason I voted no, is because I am mother myself and I care about other people's kids.

Well - I guess someone gotta stand up and say something...but it's hard standing here while I'm trying to work the keyboard.

I decided to do a bit of a search - I counted ALL the threads that dealt with signatures and avatars since 2003 - I counted...30. That's give or take one, I got distracted for a moment.

We can debate all we want, night and day, and demand our rights, day and night...

However, this is one fight we may or may not win...

I did skim some of the threads, and most of the topics were basically the same debate we're having here right now.

In all reality, the content of the avatars/signatures do not bother me - once you've seen one, you've seen them all. I just tend to concentrate on the content of the posts instead of staring at the avatars and signatures all day.

Reba had one good suggestion - just convert your version of AD to text only. I found the link at the bottom a long time ago - but because I like my AD to be a bit more colorful, I've stayed on the HTML format, instead. For that suggestion, I do thank you, Reba, for pointing that out.

As for children - I just feel that if you're going to let them on the internet, set the computer for child-safe viewing and supervise your children while they're cruising the internet. Our television sets can be set for child-safe viewing now, and the weather is improving bit by bit when they can go out and play...

In fact, back in the heyday when I was younger than a spring chick, I participated in activities OUTSIDE and read good books, played board games and had some hobbies that did not include the computer during those days when the weather wasn't good.

Even now, I don't stay on the computer 24/7 - I still enjoy a good book, I continue working on my cards and scrapbooks, talking with friends and spending time with MizzDeaf. I do enjoy a good visit with friends from out of town, and look forward to those times.

I know that computers and televisions are easy ways to keep kids amused while the parents do their own business, but... I just believe enough is enough.

Sometimes I wish I was younger now - when I was younger, I wasn't allowed to play in Little League because I was a girl...and girls couldn't play as well as boys...*RME*

Let's face the facts - we can all debate as much as we want here, but this is something that will probably never end. Threads will come up on the same subject, and it will continue to go on and on.

I'd suggest that we just focus on more important things - our own lives and how we live our lives. An ass with glasses on an avatar and a head full of chomping teeth in a signature won't end the world today.

There! I've said my word...now let the debate continue...endlessly with no end in sight.
