I DISAGREE with EVE and others because many d/Deaf children couldnt post it in this Deaf forum because of too much overrated sexual pictures here they do not allowed those children to feel free to speak. We do need d/Deaf children to be part of this to get their system out of their chest.
I hate to break it to you sweetmind, but you are actually AGREEING with me, because this is exactly what I have been saying all along. Notice that I started this poll and the other thread because I too have been offended and do not want the schools to prevent deaf children from coming here because of the inappropriate material I have been seeing lately. It has to stop! Funny how something like this can bring you and I to the same conclusion, huh? ;)

Personally, I would say that sexually-explicit material (including those emoticons) should stay in the Penisarium, and there should be some way of making sure the Penisarium is 18-and-older. If that can't be done, then the whole forum needs to be advertised as 18-and-older, very clearly, and not accessible to children. Which could have a significant impact on membership--so is it worth keeping the Penisarium in that case? I'm not sure it would be. I would think getting rid of the Penisarium then becomes the least drastic solution and has the least effect on the way things are done around here.

Right! Let me also add something here. The person in question is a wife and Mother, who should know better than to put something like that in her signature

Why is the person who is the mother is in question? What those adults do in their own time away from their children are their business, Why do you always have to put children in the middle of everything? If you have an issue with a member, Leave the children out of it. It reminds me of a person I knew that always put children in the middle of two adults situation for example, A mother had an argument with a relative, and a relative said to the mother "You and your children are not welcome in my home anymore." That's an example of putting children in the middle of an issue that holds no bare with the children to begin with.

As for the silly cartoonish type avatars, that's been brought up from time to time, that's a bit over the line, too. However, the two can't be compared. One was questionably offensive; while the other was blantantly obscene. A line must be drawn, and if members of this forum can't police themselves, then somebody must do it for them, and, set forth guidelines for them to follow.

Now you're complaining about a silly cartoonish avatar? My God, nothing seem to please you....

First you complain about nasty avatar/signature, then Terri's memories in our avatar/signature now it's about the cartoonish type of avatar.... :squint:

Hmm. But I do recall that when I register and agree with this forum agreement saying that I'm older than age 13 so it means it allows 13 yrs or older teens into this forum. They are still considered as children by law. It's why we suggest the 2 dirty forums and dirty avatars be removed from this forum. Simple.

Or we raise the age from age 13 to age 18 and leave everything alone. SIMPLE.
FYI: 'The Closet' is not a dirty forum! Do you see any pictures of gays or lesbians banging eachother in this forum?????? NO! and Leave 'The Closet' alone!

Reason why I didn't vote is because I felt the questions were a bit vague.

What if I wanted to display an avatar of a bra like what I have now offends anyone and I am asked to remove it? I don't see it as a porn or an overrated sexual image.

This forum is open to the public eyes, so what if the kids go by your post and see your dirty foul mouth, isn't it the same way as you looking at someone's avatar and signature? Yes, it is the same. There is no differences. Same thing goes for dirty smilies emoticons.

Well, I don't agree with you there. Are you goin' to say that someone is immature for usin' dirty foul mouth, hmm ? Just like you did once to me in a long time ago when I used the " bad language " icon in " Berry " thread. I am not goin' to use that kind of language anymore. You didn't say anythin' to Alex about his dirty/cussin' emoticons here for ADers to use to express when you once called me an " immature ". Now, WHO are you goin' to tell me that is more immature ?

Same here I didn't vote either cause I noticed someone said only " G " rates? What is this kindergarten forum?....

I'm not voting until it say exactly what kind of image that is not inappropriate

I'm objecting to obscene/offensive avatars and signatures. I didn't complain about the Terri Schiavo signatures. I merely stated that the media attention afforded her was unfair. Get your facts straight, dear.

 Where did I say you were immature, nor say that was immature thing to do? Don't put words in my mouth, I'm was only pointing out the same meaning of using sexual wording in open forum as it is as using sexual avatar and signatures. ;)

Raising the forum age to 18 would help...but I do think it is still best for there to be a separation of what material is where. Just because you're 18 or older doesn't necessarily mean you came here with a desire to see a lot of sexual material or engage in sexual chat. At this age yes, you do have an option, but having that material in the general forum where you can't do anything about it actually takes away my right to make a choice...at least, the only choice someone would be left with would be to leave the forum entirely.

And since there are some very interesting, cool people to chat with here, and things to be learned in other topics and areas, I'm not sure that's the best option. In fact, it ends up hurting diversity because you get a group of people who all have exactly the same values, in that case...

When it comes to obscene material being put in our faces on a constant basis, you bet!

Why are you singling me out? I'm NOT the only one here who finds these things offensive.

well, sooner or later SOMEBODY is going to have to step up and be the more mature.

Eve, do you see this as a bashing? I simply asked a question and I guess no one wants to answer because they know I am right.
