Here is one of many. Just read his posting history and it comes out all over the place.

What a thread! A whole lot of people pointing fingers and tossing the "audist" label all over the place, and a longstanding brawl between 2 hearing parents of adult deaf children making things messy. Oh, that's right, there was PFH demanding that people label each other and choose "sides" accordingly. I wouldn't label the posters involved in that discussion based on what someone else says and I won't do it now. I didn't and don't see an example of Rick48 discriminating against the deaf in that thread.

I don't even think Rick48 was involved in that conversation until -- and it was as bizarre then as it is right now -- out of the blue someone demanded to know who thinks Rick48 is an audist -- as if he's some sort of litmus test. No examples of his heinous deeds, but a whole lot of pitchforks and the townspeople shouting "audist!" and "If he floats, he's a witch!" Here's the takeaway: either call Rick48 an audist on blind faith or you will be called an audist for not doing so.

Makes no sense, just deflects from the topic at hand: small-town sheriff PFH harassing a deaf kid who doesn't value hearing in the same way he does, who doesn't exhibit what PFH thinks is the "right" behavior, or use the "right" language or label himself in the way PFH thinks is most proper. If I were the labeling type ... I don't think it would be Rick48 I'd point to as an audist.

I love your comment :)

I hope the person who uses ASL 24 hours day gets a bit sleep-now and then. Not sure who the "deaf/Deaf" emperor of NAD is these days- Harlan Lane? Does Google know?

PFH: suggest you take Bottesini special relaxing method-Rocking Chair for 2 months with hot tea. Will that Calm you down?

Im already calm :)

I ain't going bring past into here. The past is past. LEAVE THE PAST ALONE. Let's move on.

JDN, you have some nerve, from the moment you 'stepped in the door' to be rude, obnoxious, and stirring up heat. Well you are getting what you asked for. But, then you go whimpering everytime you get hit with the fireball. You really have to work on your attitude young man. You throw a punch? Don't tell me you don't know what happens next. :hmm:

Exactly. But he is all furry and warm that mommy's in here to save him.

Too late. I pointed it out several times back then in a locked thread. I even TOLD you and Faire Jour about it. Neither you or Faire Jour would even speak up.

"I TOLD you Rick was being mean to me ... "

Who is running to mommy, really? :laugh2:

Do you even know what NAD stands for?

Again with the twist!!! Amazing.

Let's stay on the topic..... This is about YOU defending only one side. These with CI's. You take things so personal here.

Even when a person decided to not get a CI, you had to throw some bile into it.

So, with all the twisting and all, why should I even give you a nod in your comments here?

No, I'm not defending anyone. This is about you discriminating against and disrespecting deaf individuals. If there's a pattern, it's in who you choose to attack and disrespect.

You can twist it to be about me, but that's not the case.

*shrugs* either way, as long as you are not a gatekeeper for all aspects of "issues" there are here, I am not gonna bother listening to you.

I had to watch you mope that you were completely disconnected from the world when your implant broke. I had to hear about how you were falling behind in school. Yes, it was temporary, but still.

It just shows me that you can't be you without the implant. It saddens me.
Very good point, and one that oral only people seem to shy away from. I do agree with you. I love my hearing aids and am glad I can interact with the hearing world. But at the same time, if they break or if I lose them or if I'm in a non one on one sitution, I'm lost. That is true for CI kids who only have oral only abilty.
I would love it, if there was a new track for hoh kids in school. It does seem like most hoh kids do well early on, but then start having issues.
Why not have a formal program for hoh (both HA and CI)kids to learn ASL as a second language around third grade? Like an outreach/short term(like the way blind schools offer short term programs) program at the Deaf School?
